I watched most of last nights game and there are two very simple thoughts.
1. I don't think I've seen a game where there were so many just low 90s middle of the plate fastballs either missed or taken. I do feel like it happens a lot with this team but the dude that was pitching last night should have given up 7 runs. He wasnt good at all but I had to listen to ROOT's bullshit saying he was locating well which was crap. His curve was nothing special and rarely did anything but hit the dirt. Should have been easy enough to just hunt the low 90s fastball. And I think a year of watching Moore and Marmelejos is gonna drive me to insanity.
2. Bullpen games rarely work. Unnecessary bullpen games are even worse. The 6 man rotation thing was good in theory given what they had to start the year but when you have 3 guys go down and cant replace them, I dont see the purpose of creating an extra hole on your team. This team has enough holes in its lineup, why create a hole in the rotation when you can just roll back to a 5 man rotation. All it takes is one pitcher to have an off night out of six or seven guys which is highly likely and then 7 innings of good pitching goes down the drain.
Whatever I guess this all comes back to refusing to put any money into the team at this point.
Nope... I'm tired of worrying about a 6th starter in the rotation... We've lost all the games so far by dinkering around with a 6th guy in the rotation... Doesn't do us any good if we're not going to win any of those games due to our pitcher pitching us out of the game in the 1st inning... I know yesterday was pitcher by committee but come on, this is ridiculous...Baltimore is at the bottom in the East....so maybe the M's get a sweep??
I'm tired of them watching a 1st pitch strike down the middle... You should only take a pitch if you're in Junior High or if your name is Edgar, Ichiro, Tony Gwynn, Pete Rose, Manny, etc...I know this might be a radical concept, but swing the bat!
