His playoff failures started in before he went to OKC. You can white knight him all you want. Doesn't change anything. He's gonna need a whole lot more than 1 good series. Heck, he needs more than 1 good playoff run.

If I recall correctly(I honestly may not due to my causualish viewing)

"Before he went to OKC" would mean his Pacers days. And If I recall correctly again, he had a few playoff runs that ran into LeBron with them when he had solid support.

And pretty sure he was consistently stroking it while averaging pretty close to triple double type numbers.

Lets see how this series plays out. He definitely deserves game 1 blame.

Yep. The problem with George is that the media and fans treat him like a superstar when he is isn't. He is never going to take his game to another level in the playoffs. At best he will probably give you numbers like you got from him in the regular season so you're never going to see a Kawhi G6 of the dallas series or LBJ G6 vs Boston in 2012 performances out of him. He is a borderline top 20 player IMO

Yep. I can no longer have this debate with a person who tells me PG didn't perform well in the playoffs while with Indy. There is a reason his playoffs criticism started in OKC and not Indy.

Even in the years when Indy fell off and started to lose in round 1, he did what was necessary

PG is no superstar, he's just a good player. Probably a #3 option on a title contender.

The criticism of PG is unfair imo. Are you guys going expecting him to play great every single game?

He avg 23/9/6 in round one
I understand, but he put himself in that light when he ran his mouth last season...

Kinda what happens when you talk shit, y'know...?

Get that. I put him in Kyrie category when it comes to players who should keep their mouth shut. Both of them usually would say a lot of silly stuff

Paul George made under 40% of his FGA's last season with the Clippers in the playoffs.....

Is he never supposed to have another bad playoffs game for the rest of his career? Bad games happens in the playoffs even to players who are much better than George. Look at some of the games Dame, Giannis, and Leonard had in the playoffs so far.

Im realistic and understand bad games happens in the playoffs
They just seem to happen a lot with PG13 is all

In the regular season. Not the playoffs.

borderline top 20 is pretty damn good. That means hed be the best player on AT LEAST a dozen teams in the league.

True but borderline top 20 is not the following 2 things which is what I was getting at:

1) A superstar

2) A player that is a #1 option on a title contender

PG is a better and bigger version of CJ IMO but on offense the talent is even to me.

Jaylen Brown or PG? I think I lean towards Brown.

If I'm being honest, PG may not be top 20 now with all these young studs in the league. He may fall to that 21-25 range

By this time next year, can probably add Morant, Zion, Klay, and possibly Fox

I don't why Kawhi doesn't get any criticism for the Clippers losing while PG seems to always get all the blame.

He's actually starting to get some criticism. But it's mainly centered around him not being a leader.
