Assuming Embiid plays but not at 100%, I'll go Sixers in 7
I'm going with sixers with brooms. They'll want to get it done and be rested for whomever comes out beat up from the Nets/Bucks
no way
If Embiid is ready in game 1 and his sitting was a precaution, the 6ers absolutely could, and probably should sweep the Hawks.
The Hawks are very inexperienced and happened to face the only team with less than them.
A healthy 6ers team would completely overwhelm the Hawks, IMO. Much like they did to the Wizards.
There's a lot of shooting on the Hawks and Trae Young is Trae Young. Hard to see the Sixers sweeping them. They're bound to have a game where 3 or 4 of their shooters is on fire.
6ers have a lot of quality perimeter defenders and they are better.
I don’t think Embiid is healthy, so I won’t predict a sweep.
If he were though, 5 at most.
This is basically the Hawks first ever playoff series. Not sure can count the Knicks who also had little experience.
Plus George Hill and Tyrese Maxey that have the best foot speed on the team to keep up with Young’s speed. The key to managing a great player is to change up the looks he sees and make him think instead of react. The Sixers need to do that with both scheme and personnel. I want them to employ some blitz but also to play straight man switching all screens and also to even work in some zone when Simmons and Thybulle are on the floor at the same time. My biggest worry is that the Sixers are too good at forcing the ball out of his hands and he racks up 12-15 assists and gets the other guys off. Hawks are sneaky good as an offensive team. Bogdanovic, Collins, Heurter, Sweet Lou, Hunter, Capela are all guys that can go off. If they get 2 of those guys each night to take turns getting hot they can be really tough to beat. Additionally, in a non-Embiid world, The Sixers need an efficient 25 on 15 or so shots from Tobias Harris each time out. John Collins is an underrated defender. There may be a night or two he holds down Harris. Without Embiid I don’t know how they make up for losing his 30 a game without Harris showing up.Yep.
Simmons, Thybulle and Green.
Keep a fresh, long defender on him all game long. I don’t think he will like that very much.
I'd be shocked if they swept the Hawks without Embiid. I think the chances of that are zero. If he plays all the games, maybe, but I really doubt that he is going to play all the games in this series. I suspect he misses at least game one.
