I don't think its drama, everyone's opinion is valid. If the pitching matchup were Young vs Kershaw or Mathewson vs Maddux or Clemens vs Koufax, the winners would be......the teams with the better hitters lol

Hahaha. Yep. That's exactly what this comes down to.

That said, Steve's rotation is looking ridiculous to me. (While also homertastic hahaha.)

Hornsby was the 9th pick of the draft. And IMO, one of the 4 most complete players in history. (Cobb, Bonds, Hornsby and Mays, in no particular order.)

I agree with you on the comparison from era to era in baseball being more pure than any other sport. I just don't know what to do with Young on a list. The guy had a 50 decision season. Had more CGs than many greats even started. Just don't know what to do with him when it comes to lists.

To me, when there are 8 teams, the top 8 pitchers drafted are the aces. Some teams might have 2, some none. Cy Young would be an ace, even in this mock. That's pretty strong

I screwed up my First Five comment. Hornsby wasnt part of it. The dude that was hasn't been picked yet. (UK, you got me thinking with that not picked comment, glad I looked. And glad I was wrong so I didn't name drop hahaha.)

There's no way Im going to look at a matchup and think "Cy Young can't win this one."

If we went with 3 man rotations it'd be hard to imagine a better option. Or even a compatible option.

Yeah, I was covering the slip, but let's be honest, everyone knows who he is. It would be interesting to see if he were picked over a modern guy with even crazier, if pharmaceuticaly enhanced numbers lol

Exactly. To me, the offenses and back end of the rotations will decide a lot of matchups, as well as lefty/righty balance

I suppose we're still doing the 648 DH games nonsense. Not to rehash that argument again :suds:

Per the rules:

1 - DH (The DH can be any hitter you want whether they played DH or not)

Awesome.... This last page is why we have these drafts.....

How can you compare a pitcher from the dead ball era to a pitcher from the steroid era?

Well, we're doing it! And no one's opinion is wrong...

But some opinions are better than others!

I might need to trade. I surprisingly have to many lefty hitters.
