If I'm being honest, I'd be a bit disappointed if FSU doesn't crack the tail end of the top 25 this year... Yes, we hemmorhaged talent a bit with Willie, but its there... We were just "coached" SO SO SO poorly... We'll see I guess... It is certainly easy to not have any expectations this season though...

I wouldn't say he sucked, considering it was his first year starting. He needs to work on his completion percentage, but his YPA, TD/INT ratio, and QB Rating were similar to guys like Kyle Trask, Brock Purdy, and Jamie Newman. I wouldn't say any of them suck.

I hear ya. I watched all or most of about 3 or 4 Penn State games and I did not like what I saw. Understand it was his first season starting but to me he looked like a liability. They better hope he takes a leap this season.

Everytime I watch those guys ball I come away impressed. They have a Big 10 title, followed by a Fiesta Bowl title, followed by a top 20 season, followed by last year’s top 10 finish. I think they are routinely under valued. They have some studs and to me they are on the cusp.

Yeah he wasn't a stud or anything. He was definitely awful against OSU, but he had great games against Michigan State and michigan, and those were two really good defenses (michigan top 10 total defense, MSU top 20). He definitely needs to take a step forward this year, no question. It's crazy to think what could've happened if they were able to hold onto Justin Fields when he initially committed there. My guess is they would've been in the CFP in 2018 for sure, and maybe even 2019.

Overall, though, that is a fantastic team. Their defense is stellar, and they have the pieces to have an effective offense I think.

Fields wouldn't have played as a FR at PSU. McSorely was still there.

I could see it happening. At 9-4 you’d almost certainly sneak in. There’s talent there for sure and Norvell’s a solid coach. It will be interesting to see how quickly he changes the culture and yields results. Got off to a bit of a rocky start last week. Not sure what the hell he was thinking there.

Ohio State lost a lot on the defensive side of the field to be pre-season number 1. They have to prove it against good offensive teams. I hope the Oregon game is actually played. That will be a good test.

The 40th ranked offense who also lost their top ten drafted QB?

It's on the road and Oregon can be a tough place to play. It's a good test for OSU.

Overall it’s a good test. Their defense is legit, my main concern with Oregon is their offense

They always lose talent every year. They're a factory at this point, so it's not a concern.
