22/23 Kraken season

3 games in and so far I like some of the increased pressure and offensive shots in general, but they still allow too many transition chances and both of their goalies have had bad games already.

They look better at PP. Tonight they got smoked too many times on PP goals, but then Vegas still looks very much like the more complete team.

Don't expect them to be the bottom of the league, but they aren't winning it all either. Can they reach the playoffs? Time will tell. Won't hold my breath though.

Will we get a Kraken team icon this year? I gave up asking admins last year. Doesn't seem to do anything.

Hopefully a fluke game. It was 3rd game in 4 days, and some other crooked scores around the league too. Maybe it gave Grubauer a little confidence if anything.

Impressed so far. Five straight wins and comfortably 2nd in the Pacific!

Currently sitting in 3rd after a Kings win, but we do have a game on Friday, a rematch at home against the Wild.

Okay, yeah, heck of a start! Looks like Jones is settling down some as goalie, and that's gonna be helpful. Dare I say that he could very well end up our #1 goaltender, even after Grubauer comes back from his injury? I'm thinking that's more than likely!

Not really lively here compared to the other teams' pages for us. This will nab some eyes:

With the 4-1 win over the Ducks last night (3/30), two things came to be with the Kraken:

1. This resulted in win #41, insuring that we wouldn't have a losing season.
2. The 14-win improvement is TIED with the all-time record for second-year teams in the NHL. The other time was by the 1968-69 Oakland/California (Golden) Seals, who seemed to have as much trouble keeping a name as they did maintaining their team.

No matter how we do, season or even any playoffs we make, we're making some freakin' history!

The win earlier this week over the Coyotes gave us our record for best win differential (second season compared to inaugural season, see above)!
The win in Vancouver puts us at +16 in that category, with a rematch against Arizona tonight.
And THIS CLOSE to a playoff clinch!
Not bad for Year Two, ah?

With a playoff spot now in hand, we have two options:

1. Rest easy in the Wild Card spot
2. Leap frog the Kings for 3rd in the Pacific

Given who we'd likely get for an opponent with the latter option (Edmonton), I'd prob say better to sit tight where we are.

Though for now, with our game in Arizona, we are looking to hit another milestone: our first 100-point season for standings!
