Fangraphs just released its top 50 Giants prospects. Interesting note about Drew Cavanaugh, who looked like a future major league catcher last season and has seen his stock only grow since then.

Bryce Eldridge is running a nearly 90% zone contact rate, which is much higher than his rate (roughly 82%) in Triple-A. This has led to a 23.5% strikeout rate in 81 plate appearances this year. I don't know if I would expect that to stick, but it is an encouraging trend.

He has a history of struggling for a short time every time he was promoted, then “getting it” and putting up video game numbers from then on. It looks like he has made it through his awkward start and is now into his video game phase.

I would guess his SF/Sacto Grayhound pass can be given to someone else at this point.

I think it depends. He's more than a HR hitter. The spray chart is JUST his HRs.

Carson Seymour had a 3.38 ERA in 13 appearances as a reliever last season, often in a bulk role (26.2 IP as RP). Like him a lot in that role going forward.

The Guardians are probably kicking themselves for not acquiring Torrens and Heineman. Bailey and Hedges are merely fallback options.

Torrents has a similar bat to Heineman and Bailey, though. All 3 are essentially offensive black holes.

But they are also all very good players. Catcher, more than any other position, is defense-first. But on a team that has no offense getting generated elsewhere, that isn’t a proper fit. It was right for the Giants to trade Bailey. Not only was he a bad fit for the current roster construction, but they got a HELL of a haul in return.
