My problem is that we should have just hired Flores. He was extended on January 21st, 2026, and we hired Jones on January 30th 2026.

Flores interviewed here on January 14th 2026. That tells me that AP and DQ didn't close, which seems to be an issue with this regime.

The Vikings were 3rd in yards allowed and 7th in total defense. Clearly Flores had interest as he interviewed here (or was using it to get an extension).

I said the same thing about the coaching search and Macdonald. Seattle outbid us and we fell back to Quinn and have regretted it.

Perhaps Jones is an amazing DC here and we improve significantly. I do doubt though he is as good as Flores is and he let Flores get out of the building IMO.

I do not trust DQ to select the best coordinator for the job. KK and Whitt showed us that. I am hoping Blough and Jones correct the trend.

A little over 3 months in since we started attending church....the wife and I are reading the Bible beginning to end, 45 minutes or so a night....got through Genesis in about 1.5 weeks. Just started on Exodus.

Bible study every Wednesday and church on Sunday.

Our pastor visited the Bahamas this past summer and was invited back next July and wants to bring his congregation with him.....so we're going or so the wife said....

Just for church reasons, not anything else of course.....

Very nice Sty, as usual. I did a double take on the WR2 tandem comment at the beginning and then realized what you actually meant.

While I love your optimism, I do see a scenario where we win 1 game. If JD gets hurt, MM cannot operate under center and DQ won start AK, we may only get that single victory.

I am not sure if I like your pessimism. I can see a s scenario where we win 16 games. Look, I am not a homer and know we won’t be undefeated because we will be resting our starters, especially JD and BC. Then maybe the Tunsil crowd will finally admit the trade was foolish.

So to summarize, and just to make the prediction thread a little more exciting, I will say we win between 2 and 13 games.

Way to put yourself out there gk. You cannot go wrong with that prediction.

I'm doing the same. Teaching myself "who" wrote each book and "why" it was written. Hopefully I can then better understand the Bible as a whole.

My wife was raised in the church so whenever I have questions I just ask her.

Okay, just curious. Looks like Ken Norton Jr is your LB coach, he may be able to help him a little adust to being a DC. Norton Jr was a DC with the Raiders and Seahawks from 2025-2021.

I enjoy your optimism Sty. It always seems like this team is playing "catchup", or "Behind the 8 ball", so to speak. Understanding Blough has been here with JD5 the past few years doesn't mean his play calling duties will be full fledge in sync by week 1.
After all, it is all about health and our talent has improved enough across the board that if healthy, we should be able to compete week in and week out.

I don't disagree with any of this and my point about Blough was that he and Jayden don't have to go through a complete getting to know one another phase. It seems as if they are friendly and that part of any OC/QB relationship is extremely important.
Btw, middle-class teams are perpetually in "catch-up" mode, mainly because they aren't risk takers and are often playing safe. That's what keeps them comfortable and wanting to win with average.

Our success is tied to the success of JD. If he plays a full season and balls out, we might win 9 gamed. But if he gets hurt, again, ands misses significant time, we only win2-3 games. My prediction. Is our OL will be pitiful. JD gets hurt. Consequently we go 4-13. The good news is I’m terrible at predictions…….,

I feel like you can take chances like that when you have the Rams caliber of roster .

I'm not sure how the many different management teams would have acted or reacted to a guy like Darnold wanting to come here under similar circumstances, but your selection of the Rams does offer a much better example of playing it safe. I can't imagine any management team here trading the perfectly safe Goff for Stafford. There was an actual example that played out here, but I really, really, REALLY, don't want to bring his name into the conversation.

We win 60% of the games with a healthy JD. We win 10% without. So 10 and 7 if he is healthy.

Very important…also understand who it is written to. Was it written to Jew or gentile? Was it written to a specific church and what were their predominate beliefs within the culture. Also, if you can, try and understand the meaning within the language…such as Thou shall not kill (actually murder).
