This is the lousiest slate of Week 1 games I can ever recall. Clemson/LSU is the only major game opening week, along with maybe Louisville/Ole Miss.
On the other hand, this is the best Week 2 I can ever recall - Ohio St/Texas, Oklahoma/Michigan, Tennessee/GA Tech, Iowa/Iowa St, Arizona St/Texas A&M are huge games with some other intriguing matchups too.

Arkansas' AD is being a pussy. He's whining that they have to play at 10:15 against Utah on the 12th and then they have to turn around and play Georgia at noon the following Saturday. He's begging the SEC and ESPN to do something about it, lmao.

They could be playing at 3:30 on the 12th and UGA would whip their ass anyway next week.

Also, this is what the $$ is for.

we have talked before about how ACC Maryland and Big Ten feels like two completely separate entities from a cultural, passion and tradition standpoint. i think the same can be said about SWC Arkansas and SEC Arkansas. SWC Arkansas had a very good stretch from 1959-1990. It's impossible to differentiate current day Arkansas from South Carolina or Kentucky.

Yeah, Arkansas has had very little success in the SEC. 1998, the McFadden years and a couple years with Petrino it's been pretty slim. I think Texas joining helps them, and I feel like there could be something with Missouri, but yeah they do kind of feel out of place.

Not a lot of great matchups there, but UNC/TCU and NC State/UVA is a good conference matchup. Memphis/UNLV will be an interesting late night game. Though my hot take is that Jacksonville State/ ND State might be the best game of the weekend

With the SEC getting rid of their cupcake week leading up to Rivalry Week, expect Week 1 to continue to be lagging behind. If there isn’t an official pre-season game, I’m actually OK with this. Would rather have it earlier in the year than later.

God forbid a big SEC football program has to fly to games. Imagine all of the other sports that bus their kids, or the Stanford/ACC smaller sports that are red-eying across the country.

What an idiot.

Great point. Maryland made the B1G jump to try and be a better football school, and while one could argue they’ve achieved that, it’s been to the detriment of the basketball program.

I’m also waiting for the hammer to fall on Mike Locksley. Great recruiter. Horrible coach. He just needs to go be the GM frontman for a program, it’s the perfect role for him.

NBC going to use NBCSN that just came back?
I've been getting ready to ask that on here, regarding peacock games. I hope they are on NBCSN as well. I know the peacock MLB game was on there yesterday, I checked yesterday because I was curious. I have free peacock till Oct 16 and maybe beyond that, but either way its more convenient if its on yttv.

We darn well better have espn unlimited on yttv by Thurs Sept 3 for espn+ games. Concerned they get it done by then.

Those 2 1st round games on TNT will be going up against:

Seahawks at Eagles - 5:00 | Fox
Bears at Bills - 8:30 | CBS.

Those timeslots had horrible ratings last year (along with the games being bad, which didn't help)

It sucks that the CFB playoff first round goes up against the NFL - because I love both, I’ll switch back and forth between the games, but NFL is my #1 sport so I get why it has better ratings, but the CFB playoff games should have their own time spot without competition from the NFL.
