If they got fleeced, it ain't the worst fleecing ever. A 2028 first on a team on the rise really isn't far off from a second - especially with the time value of 2028 factored in.
A first is still a first and not a second.

A team on the rise can be severely hampered if someone like this guy with constant lingering knee issues ends up having major knee issues. Then it's wasted and not having a first to replace him will be detrimental.

A first round pick with the optional 5th year could be a great WR.
I just don't think AJ will be great that long.

Diva?? Do any of you watch television other than games??

AJ Brown was filmed this morning 6:30 AM arriving at the New Balance Athletic Center in Foxboro, MA.

The only thing he said................"Goin' to work."

He arrived in a white athletic suit with a backpack. Caught the three people hanging around completely by surprise.

Several minutes later the Patriots announced....."AJ Brown will meet with the media later today."
There is no denying he was a problem child with Philly. However, having said that I believe Vrabel can control him. At least for year one. It was great seeing him arrive in NE and get to work. Now just need to get the rest of the hold-outs in.

A first may be a first, but the value isn't just about the round, and it's the value given up that matters. A first round next year is usually valued as a second rounder this year.

I agree all your other points are valid.

It's picks plus cap hit plus potential. The question becomes does Brown make the Patriots any better than Diggs did. Any time you lose a round one pick you lose potential.
I think Brown plays a better "posession" game and that's what Mae needs. This isn't an endorsement of the move, just an analysis.

I'm not convinced it was Brown.
Playing with Hurts, hurts!

Wether it was Hurts or Siridani doesn't matter to me. His antics like reading a book on the bench. Flipping off his QB... It just doesn't sit well with me.

Again, I don't think we see those problems under Vrabel. I hope he stays healthy. If he does he's going to put up big numbers.

Had to laugh at this while at the same time hoping he's wrong...

Amazing how the Chiefs dodged a bullet because they couldn't get Brown, not because they needed him badly and couldn't wedge a foot in the door. Halden graduated from college two years ago and is considered an expert?? He covers losers. He done pieces on a bunch of teams and now is associated with each of them? Maybe he should stick with the Atlanta Falcons and Hawks. Sorry, but I don't have a truckload of trust in his "non" biased article.

And the Chiefs are trying wraggle Boutte from the Patriots? Sorry, he's going to cost more than two left footed converse sneakers. Oddly enough, now that the chiefs are supposedly interested, so are the Chargers and Broncos according to ESPN.

Kinda reminds of the Family Feud when a moron gives an absurd answer - then family members first give a reactionary side eye, then start chanting "good answer" like they really mean it.

According "sources" the Patriots are moving in a fast furious pace behind the scenes.Eliot Wolfe now has ears that are taking on the shape of a cell phone. As one source stated, "Wolfe can't go to the bathroom without his phone. or better stated, will not go to the bathroom without his phone." So what could be going on?

The Giants are looking to move Defensive End (Edge) Kayvon Thibodeaux. He hasn't had souble figure sacks since 2023 but the people surrounding him haven't helped. What will he cost? It's rumored he will cost a fourth or fifth round pick in 2027. Then again he might cost the Patriots Efton Chism and a seventh.

But hold on........
Wolfe has reprotedly had several conversations with the Arizona Cardinals. It's believed that the Cardinals want a 2027 second round pick if there are no players involved. Problem for the Cardinals is that Josh Sweat is not an even swap for Christian Gonzalez who the Cardinals are supposedly willing to do just about anything to get. Could that be Sweat and the Cardinals 2027 first round pick?

According to Dallas Sources, Jerry Jones has been calling repeatedly about Gonzalez's availability. It was rumored earlier that he was looking to move George Pickens, but the Patriots were not interested. Now the rumor is that Jones is dangling the Cowboys' 2027 first round pick and the Green Bay Packers first round draft pick that they received for Micah Parsons.

Stay tuned....................................

I want the Pats to lock up Gonzo. But if the FO don't see him in the future because he won't come down on his asking price, I say take those two Dallas picks TODAY. However, I can't see JJ giving up two 1st in this loaded draft.

All I know is that Jones does whatever he wants. If he thinks Gonzalez is woth two in 2027 and first in '28,'29 and '30 he pay whatever he thinks is worth the trade. He fights with his own players when they want a raise yet will pay an extreme amountn to get a name player. Egos have no boundries and Jones' ego is bigger than the state of Texas.

Much like Cam Newton, I'm all in now that he is here. I hope he goes down as the greatest Patriots receiver ever.

He doesn't have the Moss speed or height, he's more Josh Gordon without the drug issues. I'm sure Josh will get the best out of him.

In 2007 the Pats signed Welker, Moss and often overlooked or forgotten Dante Stallworth. Stallworth was supposed to be our deep threat with speed and great hands. Then BB stole Moss for a 4th round pick. Stall worth still added 46 receptions for 697 yards and three touchdowns. Not bad behind Welker's 112 catches 1,175 yards and eight touchdowns and Moss's 98 catches for 1,493 yards and 23 touchdowns.

So...with a 2007 reset (with happier ending) bring back Diggs?

I say hell yes. Trade Boutte and Douglas, resign Diggs, and go all in!!
