Not trying to take anything away from the Pats success this year but their pathway to the SB was like the perfect storm. If Nix plays in that game…Denver would be in.
SB or not, they improved exponentially. Hired a great coach, who shouldnt have been free stupid Titans, and they loaded up on 1 and 2 year FA deals and hit on a QB

The only rooting interest I have tonight is for Darnold to win a SB as a kick in the nuts to the Vikings.

After watching the first half, he just needs to not lose it by doing stupid stuff.

Kraft fucked up not hiring a legitimate head coach after he canned Belichick imo. Mayo got the job as a favor and set the Pats back a couple years.

I wonder what the deal is with Rasheed Walker. Is he playing teams against each other for the best deal? Is he not as highly sought after as some believe? Hmmm

Packers trade Wicks to Eagles for 5th round pick this year and a 6th next year.

Leaves Watson, Reed, Golden as top 3... also with S. Williams, Sky Moore and Bo Melton.

The Packers received a fifth-round pick in this year's draft and a sixth-rounder next year.

Wicks' agent, David Mulugheta, told ESPN's Adam Schefter that the Eagles are signing Wicks to a one-year, $12.5 million extension. Philadelphia announced the trade and an agreement on the one-year extension Saturday without disclosing the value.

Wicks was heading into the final year of his rookie contract but now is under contract through the 2027 season.
A fifth-round pick in 2023, Wicks caught 30 passes for 332 yards and a pair of touchdowns last season.

Eagles get WR Dontayvion Wicks from Packers, sources say

Packers first pick in the draft should be a cornerback, then DL, maybe another WR for the 3rd pick..

Packers needs: CB, DL, OL
  • CB - already thin and maybe weakest position group on team and now Nixon talking of holdout
  • DL - Parsons will miss part of early season... Gary, Enarbare now both gone and traded Wooden
  • OL - need depth and players to provide competition
WR - not so sure I want an early pick unless someone falls... have Reed, Watson, Golden as top 3... then also S. Williams, Moore and Melton.

Reed just got extended for 3 years $50M... I can live with that.

Not sure which “expert” gave GB a C+ in the draft. Any other opinions?

No first round pick so no big names but I like what I have read about Cisse, McClellan, and Burton. I'll admit I'd never heard of any of them before the draft. Dennis-Sutton seems like a depth piece and insurance if they don't sign Van Ness long term. The kicker Smack was OK on a mediocre Florida teams and McManus is gone so it'll be him and Havrisik competing in July I guess. Big leg but a rookie so who knows. The CB Jackson is depth and hopefully he develops.

I'm most likely in the minority on Nixon but I hope Cisse wins a starting job in camp and Nixon's days are numbered. It feels like he does more stupid stuff than Quay Walker, which is saying something. Let the dummy Raiders pay him too.

I think the elephant in the room is…can this team stay healthy for the season? I know it’s just a matter of time before they are scrambling to keep players healthy at the end of the season which was their downfall last year. I’m not sure what the right combination is to keep most of the starters on the field but hopefully they are taking steps to figure that out.

I don't believe you're in the minority on Nixon. Too many stupid decisions game after game.

The thing the Packers do draft after draft is get guys with "measurables" and believe they can coach them to become players. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It seems year after year they get guys that kind of come from nowhere, late round picks and free agents that contribute, so hopefully they get some guys this year too.

As far as draft grades go, I see them as worthless. Take a look at how many times those draft experts go back and admit they were wrong as guys wash out or just don't fit into team schemes. It's just about never, so I see it as clickbait and nonsense.

I'm with you on the draft grade stuff, and I used to look at it pretty regularly. Still will from time to time, though I haven't this cycle yet. It's pointless until at least one season is played, but fun to read nonetheless.

Good depth I guess. Which is what I hope this draft gave us. As I said I'd like to see Cisse win a starting job. I think McClellan is going to get plenty of opportunities and Burton will be like all Packers OL picks, tried at multiple positions.

But yeah. Health always seems like a speed bump for them.

Is that what Seattle had? I haven’t googled it but off the the top of the noggin I thought they went thru the season avoiding any major injury issues. If so, was it luck? Or depth? Or a combination of other factors? It just seems like with GB it’s not a matter of if but when they will get hit by the injury bug. I realize every team gets it and maybe it’s just the homer in me but GB gets hit hard.
