Media types are bored because there is nothing to write about and editors are bitching at them to come up with something to create interest in every newspaper or website. One writer named Frank Schwab is now predicting a huge demise of the AFC Champion New England Patriots.
His first reason is that the Patriots have a much tougher schedule. He says that being out-sacked 6-1 in Super Bowl XLI and not changing the LT will be a problem. Of course he never mentions that Campbell may not have had a stable right leg. None the less he goes on and mentions Wilson being a center for the first time in the NFL and having to make a big adjustment. He claims that the nail in the coffin is a schedule that has 3 out of the first 4 games on the road and 7 of the first 11 also being on the road. He doesn't think that 4 of the final 6 and the last 2 being at home will have any positive bearing. he doesn't dare to actually put the number in ink, but he's pretty much saying that the Patriots will be 4-7. He doesn't say anything about the final 6 games, so one must assume the he either thinks they will lose all road games and only win home games which would be a 8-9 season or he thinks that they lose the final 6 at home and finish 4-13.

As a homer, I believe that the 2026 Patriots might be better than 2025. Having an easy schedule in 2025 gave the coaches an opportunity to closely examine the weakness in that team and do everything possible to correct them. I think that they may have done a better job than we all think and just might come out of the gate firing on all 22 cylinders.

Then there's this...

Head coach Mike Vrabel set the bar publicly at the Annual League Meeting in March, outlining specifically what he wants from Maye in 2026, before running off for a sex filled retreat with his mistress.

Phil Perry of NBC Boston is predicting that the Patriots will finish 10-7 in 2026, even with AJ Brown.

The guy is so negative that he thinks that the team will lose against the Seahawks, Jags and Bills with only a one win in the first four games against the Steelers.

  • Week 1: at Seattle Seahawks — 8:20 p.m. ET Wednesday, Sept. 9 This will be tough only because of the crowd. If Maye can get the offense rolling and score even a FG on the first drive, it will quiet them. A TD and a defensive stop could silence them.
  • Week 2: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers — 1 p.m. ET Sunday, Sept. 20 Steelers appear to be licking wounds and training camp hasn't started.
  • Week 3: at Jacksonville Jaguars — 1 p.m. ET Sunday, Sept. 27 Dr. Jeckyl and Mister Hyde. Even though they are at home, 2026 appears to be another off year for the Jags.
  • Week 4: at Buffalo Bills — 1 p.m. ET Sunday, Oct. 4 New Head Coach, New Stadium, New OC and New DC. Same old Bills with even more pieces missing. They might even finish behind the Jests in 2026.
  • Week 5: vs. Las Vegas Raiders — 1 p.m. ET Sunday, Oct. 11 No comment
  • Week 6: vs. New York Jets — 1 p.m. ET Sunday, Oct. 18 No Comment
  • Week 7: at Chicago Bears — 8:15 p.m. ET Thursday, Oct. 22 This going to be a ball buster.
  • Week 8: at Miami Dolphins — 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday, Nov. 1 No Comment
  • Week 9: vs. Green Bay Packers — 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday, Nov. 8 Dr. Jeckyl and Mister Hyde. Might be a weird one. Patriots are home.
  • Week 10: at Detroit Lions — 9:30 a.m. ET Sunday, Nov. 15 (Munich) No Comment
  • Week 11: BYE
  • Week 12: at Los Angeles Chargers — 8:20 p.m. ET Sunday, Nov. 29 Everywhere you look the experts are expecting a Patriots loss after a Bye.
  • Week 13: vs. Buffalo Bills — 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday, Dec. 6 6-6 Bills are already done. Patriots are in the playoffs after this winn
  • Week 14: vs. Minnesota Vikings — 8:15 p.m. ET Thursday, Dec. 10 This one will be more ugly than expected
  • Week 15: at Kansas City Chiefs — 8:15 p.m. ET Monday, Dec. 21 This one is more ugly than last week
  • Week 16: at New York Jets — 1 p.m. ET Sunday, Dec. 27 Jests are fighting for a playoff spot and this one is a slugfest
  • Week 17: vs. Denver Broncos — TBD Broncos finally get to play in a NE snowstorm and it's not the same fluffy shit that falls in the mountains.
  • Week 18: vs. Miami Dolphins — TBD Patriots starters all watch from the stands.

Curran has always been Mr. Negative himself.

Won't worry about not seeing the preseason finale...

  • 98.5 The Sports Hub tells us the Patriots’ preseason finale at the Browns on August 27 has been moved to a national broadcast on Prime Video.

600 Regular Season wins??? Only team wirth 7 Lombardi's???
But if Year 1 of the Mike Vrabel era was any indication of what's to come, it might not be long before the Lombardi Trophy returns to its rightful place.

Did you read the article? Or just jump for an opportunity?
The article is about what Patriots / Vrable can accomplish.
The lead in says only team with 7 Lombardis. They only have six.

Beyond referencing being the first team founded after the 1950's to win 600 games, the article is dumb - so I didn't read to the bottom.

You didn't read anything. You immediately came for my throat.

If you had read it, the Patriots don't have 600 wins wither.

Throat? Seriously? And I did read through it until it became clear it wasn't adding anything.
