I'll start this thread off with this:

NASCAR boss resigns amid backlash over texts

NASCAR commissioner Steve Phelps announced his resignation after more than 20 years with the top racing series in the U.S. and a nasty federal trial in which inflammatory texts he sent during contentious revenue sharing negotiations were revealed.

New points system this season as NASCAR is returning to the Chase Format. Also, Kaulig Racing and Dodge Ram are putting-up Five teams of the new return of Dodge to NASCAR with Five Ram trucks in the Truck Series. They have Four teams that are in place and Jeff Kuniskis from Dodge and Kauling Racing have started a program of drafting independent Drivers to drive their Fifth Truck in given races. First up is Tony Stewart, who will drive a new Dodge Ram at Daytona in the Truck Race. Should be fun to watch.

Watching Tony was always fun, until the end when you could tell that short track accident he was involved in took a heavy mental toll on him I feel and he was rarely competitive. I feel like the truck series with him at one race would be a fun watch.

The return of Dodge to NASCAR is starting this year with the Five Trucks of Haulig Racing. The Four Fulltime Drivers are: Daniel Dye, Brenden Queen, Justin Haley, and Timothy Terrell. The fifth Truck will feature a rotating Competitive Driver and to start at Daytona it will be Tony Stewart. I am a bit pscyhed to see Dodge back in 2028, in the Charger to return to the Cars side of NASCAR!!

Kyle Busch wins the pole for the 500. The second Qualifying Duel has to be run to determine the rest of the field. Lagano one Qualifying Duel One.

I watched about half of the two qualifiers last night while flipping back and forth with the olympics. The way Casey Mears qualified for the field was crazy wild

I've always been a Mopar fan. Was disappointed that Dodge didn't last too long when they came back in 2001. Let's see if they stick around this time
