The San Francisco Giants have officially signed RHP Kaden Waechter to a signing bonus of $3,247,500. Waechter was the No. 55 pick.His deal is $1,484,500 over-slot for the No. 55 pick.

Giants have a bit over $3.8M left in their pool. Have to imagine the entirety of that goes to Boleman. Means Wentz is probably not coming unless he takes the $150k bonus, which feels unlikely.

I do wonder if Bolemon even signs at this point. The Giants spent almost 1.5 million over slot value to sign Waechter. Unless Bolemon is a charitable young man he will likely want the same amount over his slot value since he is a higher draft pick. The Giants wouldn't be able to spend that much without forfeiting a draft pick next year, as that would come out to 4.75 million.

But maybe Bolemon will just be happy to get 3.8 million and sign. Guess we will see. However, if Bolemon doesn't sign, the Giants could offer up to $529,000 to Wentz.

Mikey Bell is returning to college baseball to play for the Georgia Bulldogs in 2027. He was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 2026 MLB Draft.

Reading between the lines, I would guess that Bell graduated and does have a year of eligibility left as a graduate student. Even guys who graduate have to go through the transfer portal to move eligibility to wherever they are headed next.

Looks like McCovey Chronicles has a better tracker than MLB's. According to their numbers, the Giants went right up to the 5% over the bonus pool. However, if you look at MLB's numbers, the Giants are about 4k over 5%. I assume that is because they are rounding up to the nearest 10 thousandths.
