I didn't judge him at all, I simply posted the stats for punters last year. He was listed as 25 some people might want to consider that when drafting this year.

32 teams, 32 full time punters. At least theoretically. 25 would be bottom quarter. I understand some of those punters may have only been in for a game as a replacement or out later in the year due to injury. But you have to look at the fact that he was our starter at punter and was only 25. Later in the season I really started to notice a lot of punts went out of bounds. Some didn't have any distance and still went out of bounds.

our recent history with punters is one of giving up on young punters too early.
we have 2 ex punters on that list and both are performing well.
if we are going to draft young punters, we might have to accept growing pains......

This may be true but if a player is underperforming it's in the teams best interest to replace him. Not sure how much development is involved with kicking a ball, I would have thought most of that would have been done already or at least while in college. It's not as demanding as most positions.

I liked the draft pick and the player but he never quite developed.

He was ranked 25 based on his quantity of punts. He was 22 based on net, but wasn't that far off 15. He was 155 in total distance but not far from 10.

Usually there are plenty of diamond in the rough punters as UDFs. I just don't think it worth draft capital unless there are no other needs and the desired punter is there.

That's why I say you can take a punter late hell you can pick him up in the undrafted free agency. But you bring one in for Camp competition at the very least nothing ventured nothing gained

So Mendoza will very likely be the first player drafted this year and most assuredly the first QB taken in this draft. My question is, and it's my sentiment on drafting a QB, did he make the team better or did the team make him better? I feel especially at this position that's the question you have to ask yourself. So how do you all feel about this?

Hmm...Tough question and I can see the argument either way. Even his coach admitted that they made the team through NIL money. So they surrounded him with the best talent, but he was throwing dimes too. I didn't watch enough of his games to really make a call on whether he was a game changer that took the offense to the next level, or if he was just a piece that was enabled to shine because of the rest of the starters.



Kayden Proctor is who the Pats need to really let Maye shine.

Agreed, I am not saying he won't be a decent QB only that we have seen a lot of Danny Weurffel's. JaMarcus Russel's and Ryan Leafs that it make me question things when it comes to QB.

I am more than Okay with Proctor should be there. I have said OT / Edge or Edge / OT I am now leaning toward OT b/c even if you can't get a top Edge guy there are plenty of LBs that can get after the QB in this draft.

If Arch Manning will be the number one pick he damn sure needs to show a lot improvement this year. Talk about a guy I was completely unimpressed with based on the hype. Right now I say he will be more Ryan Leaf

Miller is green in rushing game. Needs a lot of improvement and everone believes he can be coached.
He is ready to go in pass protection.......

He's got the size and athleticism, I like it.
But I still like Proctor and the kid from Arizona, Iheanachor, in that order...if either is available.
