Giant no and even as much as I like Trocheck more than Panarin...at 32 I wouldnt want to move NJ14 for him either for all the reasons Puck mentioned. If we are talking a Robo or Thomas (almost any NHL good young C now) I would go down that path. Ive harped on it for a long time, LA C position is f.ucked and needs addressing properly.

Agreed. If he is moved it has to be for a youngish, long term player not two over the hill guys.

Trocheck would be a great addition for LA to at least temporarily solve the center situation (at least one, after the Buster experiment and Dunno moved it's clear the Kings need two centers) but I don't include Laferriere in that deal either because of what you said.

If you're talking Thomas, Kyrou or Robertson, now he is in play.

Wouldnt it be interesting if management (GM) took into consideration what fans thought before they made bigger moves? If nothing more than to get the pulse of the fanbase.

Just looking at the standings, when I should be working
Anaheim and Utah have the more wins 29 then any team in the Pacific. They are the wild card teams in the West.

Yeah I know the ducks are in the Pacific

At the end of the season the loser points will either help them get into WC2 (and that's assuming teams like Anaheim, Utah, etc go into pseudo skids and lose games in regulation) or will prevent them from making the POs at all because they won't have enough ROWs. Won't matter anyway because they'll just get tossed in the WCQF anyway no matter who they face.

Goal differential isn't even a factor here since LA is so anemic on offense.

Kingsters all rah rah rah they're accumulating points, that's not all that matters ya mook.

I will add, just an FYI so I'm on record- I keep hearing Kingsters saying it's Jill and his system why the Kings can't score.

This very same system, the one that was changed after McLellan left, produced a few 30+ goal scorers, a few 20+ goal scorers just last season. A guy like Dexter had a career year, as did an inconsistent fool like Buster.

While I am no fan of Jill, and definitely would prefer a more aggressive attack/approach at both ends of the ice, this falls on the players. Almost every one of them to a T have underachieved this season which is why the Kings sit where they do.

Digging deeper, that begins at the top with draft choices, development, trades, free agency. Most of this shit pile of a team was assembled by Blake and Holly just put the cherry on top.

I agree players are very much under achieving, I knew they would...just not this much. I made a point on this in pre-season and was my major point about Jill ******* LA out of the 2nd round and finally beating the Oilers. Jill destroyed the confidence and cohesion of the team and most players have yet to get any of that back...its hard to explain, but think of Tiger Woods, he still has all the skill he had before, but after his "I can do anything" was smashed, hes never been remotely the same. Jill still thinks his way is the right way and playing a 22 y/o for 22secs and vets for 20+ is just stupid and thats not even touching on his fall back and play in a shell if they get a lead BS and then hoping the guys can turn it back on after having a lead beat out of them. I didnt want to watch the Kings until Jill was gone, he is cancer and not a play to win guy. If he was the Avs coach, they would collapse. While I dont believe this team has been built well or even remotely believe they are a cup team without Jill (or even with the greatest coach ever)....I do prefer bad teams that try to win and fail vs teams that play any kind of prevent. Blake and co, definitely tto blame for it all

Agree with the underacheiving. That means that it falls on the players. If that is the case, I would look at Anze. Since he is the captain, he needs to captain up and get the team going. I dont see him as a firey type of captain and I think thats whats needed here.

Jill absolutely also killed this team, 100%. He should have been canned after that debacle against Edmo and his lame puck luck bounces comments, we haven't gone on a tear yet but other teams have, he is a no accountability air bag of a coach.

However he isn't the one on the ice making decisions or driving play, that falls on the players.

He wasn't Buster trying to play hero when they are :40 away from taking a commanding 3-1 (or 3-0? Can't remember if it was G3 or G4) lead forcing Edmonton to basically win four straight. He wasn't Kuzmenko who had a wide open shot in the slot 15 feet out but decides to pass it to a guy who isn't open for a shot. He isn't Anderson who didn't chip it hard enough to clear and it ends up in the zone still and boom goal against.

I think it's a combination of things but the execution falls on the players and they simply did not this season. The regression was beyond normal for sure.

This is Blake's mess, he's like an STD - the gift that keeps on giving. Talented yet disjointed team. There are some good players on this team but unfortunately it's not the right mix.

Holly's biggest mistakes were trading Spence for nothing basically (who ia having an exceptional year in Ottawa with more TOI, that's on Jill) and then the Dummy and Peepee contracts, neither have moved the needle at all and in fact made the D corps worse.

Last 2.5 months of the season and his career,, that isn't going to happen especially when the guy has been who he is for the last 20 years. I prefer fiery captains myself, especially being one many times, teammates watch and that gets them going.

I've long said this team plays nice guy hockey and this is not a nice guy sport. Truly appreciate Kopitar as a player and what he's done for this franchise but I hope whoever is next (Kempe IMO or Doughty for the laat year of his contract) is a Richards type who got in peoples' faces to get them going and engaged.

ESPN sources: The LA Kings have acquired standout forward Artemi Panarin from the NY Rangers in exchange for a conditional third-round pick and prospect Liam Greentree

Trading youth away pretending to have a chance this year.
Stricks me as a trade to make the playoffs and keep our jobs trade
