Everything we have heard about the Mariners and first base this year seems to start and end with Josh Naylor. But, if there is still some Japanese influence in the team front office, could Munetaka Murakami be in play for the Mariners? The guy plays both first base and third base.

Just a discussion point. I'm not sure I want it either. But if they really want to kill the team chemistry that was built over the last season, all they have to do is let Geno, Naylor, and Polanco walk, and then bring in a high-priced Japanese player. And it's not like they haven't done this before.

I hadn’t even thought about team chemistry. Would just be annoyed if they gave that contract out to him. The NPB is the equivalent of AA so basically he is Laz Montes and who would be jumping for joy if they M’s gave him $100 million right now?
