Boston Celtics vs. Golden State Warriors

The # 2 defense vs. the # 1 defense. They're not that close though IMO. Marcus Smart won't do anything against Curry. Smart isn't Payton, Kidd, Stockton, Billups, who could have made some impact.

A few months ago, I would have seen this as a competitive series. But Boston's defense just doesn't seem as great as it ranks. And Robert Williams doesn't play big minutes.

For MVP, during previous year, there could have been a few options among Warriors players. This year? The other teammates aren't as good as Steph, or are unlikely to have a good 4-5 game stretch.

So there's only one answer. In previous years, Draymond Green or Klay would have been good choices, and someone like Poole could have a chance if he could hit 22+ 3's. Draymond getting near triple doubles while getting in the other team's head, would have been a reasonable possibility.

The Warriors have been close to sweeps twice before, in these playoffs. I'll pick them to get it done this time.

Hopefully this is a good series though, that's tied 2-2 after 4 games, or goes 6 - 7 games.

The scary thing is that Golden State is the best defensive team, and are 2nd in defensive rebounding. So if that's what they are great at, and they already do have a decent offense (turnovers drag them to 17th best ORTG), other teams are going to have to play pretty well to beat them. Golden State also has a top 3 both offensive and defensive eFG.

Maybe that's why other teams haven't been able to do that well at rebounding against Golden State. Because Golden State themselves are one of the best at rebounding.

Again, 3-4 months ago, I could have said that Horford and Robert Williams could win a few games by themselves, and this would be a good series, but I'm not feeling it anymore.

Golden State in 4.

MVP: Curry

Trophy Presenter: They don't seem to do this for the Finals, it's usually an ABC broadcaster and Adam Silver. But just in case, the Warriors seem to be channeling "it's like the first time" vibes, so I'll go with Andrew Bogut.

Is this the first year that you have predicted a sweep in every round?

No. I didn't pick one in the conference finals.

While the series was tied 2-2 after four games, it wasn't a good Finals because the games Boston lost, they lost by 10+ points.
