He should be a solid role player. Very smooth game. Big enough to defend his position and he can shoot.

Yeah he’s interesting for those reasons

His defensive indicators are a little shoddy for a guy with his rep

I am curious if that is a product of self’s defensive system or if he might be a lesser athlete than we thought

If the Pistons add both Ayton and Bagley back it's conceivable Garza is either out or in the G league all year.

Will be interesting. He had some nice games.
I think getting Duren means they will target other players than Ayton. I like Garza and that he put in so much work last off season slimming down and speeding up. Hopefully he put in work this year on his D because he needs that to be a viable option. Still haven't seen enough of Garza or Livers and that is why I want to see them do the summer league.

I’m not sure Ayton makes a whole lot of sense for Detroit now, they have Stewart, Duren and Garza. Their main focus should be Bridges. Cunningham, Ivey and Bridges is a very nice young trio. They still have money to add another piece…not sure what, a stretch 4 maybe. Not sure what else is out there

@WiggyRuss and he shot 41% from 3. I think this kid is being undervalued. He has a quick release and a pure shooter, he can play defense. Exactly what the Cavs needed. Too much emphasis on his age imo
I mean, I guess I can understand those who say we have way too many at that position - him, Sexton, Okoro, Levert, but there could be some other changes by the opener or the deadline. Had to go with BPA there, especially since he was a 3 and D wing that we need.

Yep. Many fans (when they complain about a pick) think a guy needs to be a star and really there are only a few stars per draft. Happens, but not many taken late lottery. If he's a star, great.....but just need him to be what we picked him to be. Solid shooter/defender/role player.

Yea...don't necessarily disagree on Ayton. They'd need to run Stewart or Duren at the 4 If they got Ayton (which they will with Stew anyway) but it would put 2 subpar 3 pt shooters on the floor. If you add Hayes to that mix that would be 3

With their cap space they'd be a popular trade candidate also.

If they get Bridges their starting lineup will be all players drafted since 2018 before pick #20
Cade-2021 #1
Ivey-2022 #5
Bey-2020#19
Bridges-2018 #12
Duren-2022 #13

Stewart-2020 #16
Bagley-2018 #2

I really like what Philly did in udfa land

Foster and Mohammed have legit upside and we know I think champagnie could be something with his size and shooting as he was on my potential second round steals list

Really good for not having any picks

The kings loaded up on 3 and d projects in udfa with hall Rhoden and Horne. None are stars but all could be off the bench contributors if they break right

I'll be surprised if either ends up starting. I think the ceiling for each is probably rotational player. They'd each have to make pretty big leaps to reach starter status.

Shareef did have that heart issue that stunted his development. So we'll see if he can overcome that.

Pippen's strength right now is defense, maybe he develops into a Payton Jr?

It's funny, all the focus is on the progeny and Swider gets no pub, but he may have the best shot at the roster of the 3. He shot 47% from 3 for Syracuse last year at good volume at 6'9. Solid combo forward that can also rebound and defend some. He was the only prospect that got two pre-draft workouts with the Lakers.

Swider fell by the wayside because he was a huge recruit who didn’t pan out that way in college

But guys with his size and shooting will ally get a flier

He was a 4 star recruit and picked Villanova over Syracuse, Xavier and Duke originally, then never really got much of a role there. Transferred to Syracuse as a senior and put up 14/7 on 44/41/87% shooting and had big games against NC and FSU late. I'm surprised that's he's 6'9, since he plays smaller really (other than being a solid rebounder). He played on the perimeter a lot (6 pt attempts per game). Solid build at 225.

Yeah a reasonable udfa pick up
