Thought I'd start a thread to discuss some of these signings, still strange seeing a non July 1 date as UFA period. Lots of movement today, bunch of Kings/ex Kings signed elsewhere:

- Stetcher/Coyotes/1 year $1.25 million
- Euthanasia/Hawks/1 year $3 million
- Clague/Sabers/1 year $750,000
- Kubalik/Red Wings/2 years $5 million
- Kuemper/Capitals/5 years $26.25 million
- Cernak/Lightning (RFA)/8 years $41.6 million (total whiff by Dumbo trading him - how good would this guy look right now on the back end? Big, nasty, can play)
- Maatta/Red Wings/1 year $2.25 million
- Campbell/Oilers/5 years $25 million

Summary, I'm sure these will be updated constantly.

Any deals jumping out at anyone?

Also Burns traded to Carolina, I have no idea how SJ got out of that atrocious contract at his age (37).

Kings have no cap space to sign any big ( or even medium) names.
If they sign anyone it will likely be players for the Reign. Hopefully a goalie prospect and then warm bodies

Pretty much. The resigned Edler to a 35+ contract (1 year/$1.5 million, $750,000 base $750,000 in bonuses) but they needed more on the back end in terms of LD. Walker can slot in there, he's done both sides like Martinez did here for years, but a true legitimate LD is still needed and Bjornfot, damn did that dude take a massive slide backwards this season. He will be fighting to stay on the roster let alone locking down a starting spot on defense like he did the last 2 years.

Next year Lemieux, Moore, Edler and Quick come off ($7.15 million total), barring any extensions or acquisitions but guys like Bjornfot and Byfield will need new contracts as RFAs, Andersson also with arbitration rights but I was surprised they resigned him this season. Little more play room to maybe address that spot unless someone wows out of camp.

So much money spent on UFAs on the first day of signings. Flat cap and teams still find a way to spend $10 mil on players.

Im not sure That it matters Regarding LA's cap situation. I Really doubt they were going to sign anybody of impact anyway. They really need to address a couple issues on defenseAnd they should be able to do that without without too much money to money being needed

I actually think Burns in Carolina is going to be anextremely good fit, I bet he plays with slaven...... Which means he will be able to go back to just hitting bombs from the point And not worrying about playing defense

Matthew Tkachuk won't sign LT deal with the Flames. Calgary filed for team elected arbitration Monday night stating it was to keep Offer Sheets away from him, but that also means he no longer can accept his MQO which was at least $9 million.

The goal was to get him signed long term, but he is rumored to be wanting to go to the Blues most because of his dad's history there, dad is employed by them, family is there, etc. Now the Flames pretty much have to move him.
