Clutch Challenge (Friday): Good.

New Rising Stars format: The championship game definitely had defense being played, and was more like a real game. The first rounds were a little better than normal.

The changes are better than not having the changes.

Saturday:

Skills Challenge:

Shooting: The 1 point shot is useless. It's worth so little, and with only 30 seconds, no one is going to attempt it.

I do like starting off with the 30 foot shot, that's a good rule.

Simply the court a little. Have only 3 point, 4 point, or 5 point shots.

Passing: It's too hard to keep track in real time what's happening, but I do like the weave passing. I don't know why they made the outlet one only 2 points, it's worth too few.

Good idea, not sure how to improve it, leave it as is.

Relay course: I did like the moving passing targets, and the windmill defender. Not a bad idea.

So this is a completely new format. It's probably too complicated. But individually, I liked the components.

3 point contest: Not going to happen, but get rid of the Dew Zone balls, put those in the Skills competition or something. They already are kind of there, this year.

I'm glad Kennard and Towns did well.

Why isn't Hield doing it, he hasn't done it since he won.

No Seth Curry either.

Dunk contest: I liked the attempts that Cole Anthony and Toscano-Anderson tried, there was more spin and difficulty. Too bad they couldn't make it.

I think he even tried a windmill off the backboard, similar to what Jason Richardson once did.

I didn't like most of Toppin's dunks. At the end, it was too anticlimactic. He didn't have to try.

I did like Toscano-Anderson's presentation, with the Mexican jersey.

I wish LaVine and Donovan Mitchell would do it every year.

Zach LaVine is my new guy I'm rooting for in the 3 point contest. He's already won a dunk contest. No one has ever won both a dunk and a 3-point contest.

Towns has won a Skills contest, and a 3 point contest, so pretty good there.
