I'm agnostic on this.

He was apparently playing injured last season and still was the strong link on the line (Which could be the tallest of the midgets.)

But if he's ready to retire and they have a pro-bowl alternative ready to go, fine.

I know its early and we shouldn't overreact about injuries this time of year... but his own comments on his fire to play are definitely concerning.

If he wants to play again then he better have his mind right or he should just retire.

Steelers Declining 5th year Option on Terrell Edmunds.

So he's a FA next year. Either they want to move on or they think they can resign him cheaper than the $6.7MM for that option. His current cap hit for this year is about $3.4MM. So that is a significant jump.

Not surprised. Did improve but as a 1st round pick he should have been better than ehh.

Yup, was never a fan, always in wrong place, took bad angles and looked like a pick due to Tomlin’s friendship with the family and his Va roots.....
Somethin I hadn't thought of before... But the Steelers picked up Minkah's 5th year option. Picking up Edmunds' option would have meant tying up $30m into their safeties in a single season.

I know thats not the entire reason, but that makes it a pretty damn easy decision to make on top of his sporadic levels of play.

Anyone heard any word on Trai Turner or Malik Hooker?

Also, to noone's surprise, Jaylen Samuels probably won't make the team per reports.

Not surprised since there are needs elsewhere.

I would argue the comment in the article that they have the best Outside Linebacker combo in the league, but with that said TJ Watt alone makes it hold water.

Looks like they are working out a deal with Turner right now.

Remember everyone, this was the 31'st ranked OL in the league last season. Losing 4/5 of it to replacements shouldn't be surprised or fretted over.

Can't get much worse.

Trai Turner was a 5x Pro-Bowler in Carolina in their ZBS. He went to LA for one year in their man system and was injured.

Now he's back in a ZBS, with Canada. I would expect more of the Carolina Trai to shine.

DeCastro was a great pro for more than a decade, but age and injuries had him deep on the backside of his career already. He was living on the past, like Pouncey.
