2021 Offseason/Season... Draft, FA & Staff

From what I understand the Steelers have 9 million in space and insist on carrying 5 million under into the season so they effectively have 4 million to work with right now.

I hope they go after an OLineman (Schwartz, Moses, Reiter). And if they have anything left, then go after a vet DB (Nelson, Sherman, Breeland). Also wouldn't mind a vet edge guy to add depth to the group (Watt/Highsmith/Roche/Marsh).

I'd laugh my ass off if Nelson came back.

I think ever since Joe Haden was acquired it has become common practice to keep a pile on standby into August for when final cuts happen. There's always a decent amount of surprise cuts that could instantly come in & provide depth or compete to start.

After barely beating a RG3 lead ravens team on a covid Wednesday game, the steelers lost 5 of their next 6 including games to the alex smith led redskins and Ryan finley lead bengals, and losing to the browns at home giving up 48 points and close to 400 yards of offense.

The way they finished coupled with the losses of dupree, hilton,feiler, big al, conner, and a draft where they spent their first two picks on a RB and a middling TE, many are fading the steelers.

PFF projections have them wining the division 10% of the time, making the playoffs 27%, and winning an avg of 7.6 games.

I wasnt big on haskins coming out of college. He needed work and was raw.....but he has an arm, even if he can show progress....

They've said hes been going out of his way to introduce himself to team mates, integrate himself into the culture here. Maybe he gets it......Plus Ben talking about him says something as well. Ben isnt the mentor, never was. But sounds like he has a hear for haskins. Ben also knows hes on his way out, so he doesnt feel the guy as a threat.
