Charlotte over Indiana.

For the past several years, I always think Indiana is really good, and they haven't lived up to it.

However, when Charlotte loses, they tend to lose badly.

Washington over Boston.

I like the Wizards backcourt, especially with Jalen Brown on Boston out.

San Antonio over Memphis.

I think the Grizzlies are worse with Jaren Jackson. Spurs play a good team game. Valanciunas might be the biggest difference maker though, for Memphis to win.

Los Angeles over Golden State.

I don't like the Lakers defense or health right now. I almost picked Golden State, but changed it right now back to Los Angeles.

Golden State will still have size problems.

Washington is the pick I am the most confident in. I could be wrong on the rest.

It still surprises me that a team can trail by 19 a few minutes into a game, and come back to pull it to within 2.

It's not a comeback though, until the Spurs can take the lead.

Indiana vs. Washington:

I think I will go with Shaq's rule that a superstar can't have 2 bad games. So I guess I will hope Beal and Westbrook play better.

It is hope, though.

Overall, I like Indiana's team better, with McConnell. But I guess I will pick Washington.

Memphis vs. Golden State:

Golden State will probably win by double digits.

I hope Memphis wins, but I don't think Memphis is good enough.

Miami vs. Milwaukee:

Milwaukee will play much better this year.

Milwaukee in 5.

Boston vs. Brooklyn:

Brooklyn wins this easily. It's possible none of the games are close.

Brooklyn in 4.

Washington vs. Philadelphia:

Philadelphia will probably lose some games, due to Washington's pace. I don't think Washington can play at that level for 4 wins though.

Philadelphia in 5.

Atlanta vs. New York:

Don't know, I think Atlanta's size may be the difference, with Capela.

Atlanta in 7.

Dallas vs. Los Angeles Clippers:

Dallas is easier to focus in on this year, and their defense isn't good. Don't think it will go more than 5 games, but I'll pick 4.

Los Angeles in 4

Portland vs. Denver:

If Nurkic played like he did a few years ago, I would pick Portland. Even though Portland beat Denver without him in 2019.

He's been too inconsistent though.

This should be a long series.

I guess I'll say Powell will bring the power. Hope to see some Giles III.

Portland in 7.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Phoenix:

I think Phoenix might be better in the backcourt, the Lakers in the frontcourt.

Los Angeles in 6.

Memphis vs. Utah:

This series has the most exciting position battles. Morant and Mitchell, Valanciunas vs. Gobert.

I'm the most excited about this aspect of it.

Utah never wins in a short series though. You have to back to 1998, the last time they beat a good team in under 6 games.

Memphis isn't a good team, just pointing out that they always play long series.

Utah in 5 (although it might be a sweep).

Rather than predicting, here‘s who I am rooting for:

Miami vs. Milwaukee: Miami because Milwaukee won last year.

Boston vs. Brooklyn: Brooklyn because I don’t like having to root for someone I feel has no chance to win four. Plus, I like Nash. However, I am tired of how some have made them winning as if it was a miracle. Yes, they haven’t played together due to injuries, but they are no underdog.

Washington vs. Philadelphia: Washington because while I would have liked to root for Simmons assists, he was too stupid to be professional about ROY. Plus, I felt his Magic comparisons by some to be way too immature.

Atlanta vs. New York: New York because people have talked about their surprise.

Dallas vs. Los Angeles Clippers: Dallas because I am tired of LA’s resting players, feel they ranked to avoid Lakers, Lue is annoying to me, and they were so quick to trash talk about taking over LA before they did anything.

Portland vs. Denver: Denver because of Lilliard and I’d like to beat them this year.

Memphis at Utah: Duh. Jazz.

Phoenix vs. Lakers: Pass. I don’t want to root for either. Would have rooted for Phoenix if they had given Hornacek this roster.

Did Karl Malone ever get a playoffs 10 second FT violation?

WHAT? Miami beat Milwaukee in 5 last year.

Miami went to the NBA Finals.

There was talk about whether Antetokounmpo wanted to leave, because of another early exit.

Fortunately he never said that, it was just media speculation.

And you can root for Westbrook and Beal's assists! And Beal's steals.

Although Westbrook averages a little more this year. I think Beal is better for his career.

Wait, he's not. Wow, I always thought Beal was a good stealer.

@MHSL82, why didn't you tell me Beal wasn't a good stealer?

Oh, ok. Maybe it was the year before? I told you I haven’t paid much attention these past few years.

That's ok. The last time, prior to 2020, that Miami and Milwaukee played was in 2013. Antetokounmpo wasn't even on Milwaukee yet.

That Bucks team had Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings.

And Tobias Harris! Wow.

So who are you rooting for this year, with the correct information, about Milwaukee and Miami?

I'll point out one thing, about this.

I think this was more about trying to get more fans. They always have to compete with the Lakers for fans.

But, when they got their two stars, they want to attract more people to be Clippers fans. They have to create some hype, to do that.

So to me, this was more about trying to take some of the spotlight from the Lakers, then it was about talking trash about the rest of the league.

I do agree with you about resting players. One reason why I like Lillard and Gobert, is that as stars, they rarely rest.

Except for this year.:L

Gobert missed one game. I also like playing every game, but I don’t think it’s fair to assess resting blame on Gobert when I don’t think he had a choice (coach) and it’s one game. Did it say “rest” on the DNP?

Nothing.

It wasn’t for rest. They “could” make it up but when ONE player misses ONE game all year on a team that does not traditionally rest players, I’m going to take it more seriously. He played the night before, played other back to backs (so not a habit), and played the Lakers the very next game (so it’s not matchup based).
