Mingo would be caught more than likely with an MRI. MRI on a healthy person does not happen.

My back has hurt for years I just ignore it. What is an MRI is what most working people would tell you.

It wouldn't have taken an MRI - as the spine is made up of bones and bones show up on Xrays. I think the story here may have one or both of the following components: 1) He's thinking if there ever was a season to take off an get this surgery this one might be it, or 2) a known condition he was playing with now has a new medical procedure that has proven effective.

I don't believe the Broncos will have an opportunity to draft Penei as he may be the top pick of the next draft - or in the top 3.

Sewell and Quentin Nelson are as good as we have seen in a long time.

I have Sewell with a higher grade than Nelson, but yes they are.

Sewell might be the best OL coming out of the draft ever in my era, and that is saying a lot when you consider guys like Orlando Pace, Jon Ogden, Tony Boselli, Joe Thomas, Robert Gallery etc when they were entering the draft.

Remember, Orlando Pace was in heisman contention.

The Broncos had a Sewell before he was a better than average player - one of those guys who could do a standing back flip.

and Mingo isn't talking about Josh Sewell the old Nebraska dude Center that we drafted. ;)

When I think of Steve Sewell I think being a kid and remembering Elway dumping everything off to him and Sewell being a chain mover. Sewell kept drives alive!

Robert Gallery was an elite OT coming out of the draft. At one point he was highly considered to go #1 overall. He didn’t have a great NFL career or anything like that but in terms of being a draft prospect he was one of the highest rated ever coming out which is the group I am comparing Sewell to, coming out. He is that highly thought of.

Steve Sewell, number #30. 1st Round pick from Oklahoma. Good at everything, and was also a good thrower of the ball with a few completions back to Elway. Made the big catch over the middle of "The Drive" against Cleveland to get to mid-field.

I have a higher grade on him than Pace. Moves like a butterfly, stings like a howitzer.

On second thought - with the top two OTs in this next draft - and the savings you can get on their contracts - you might want to look at the costs of getting up in draft slots to pick one of them.

Go back to some of my old KFFL posts. Gallery was not and never was a tackle and I told the guys on the old Raiders board that.

I’m cool. KFFL is gone and I really have better things to do, but if you say you said it then good enough for me. Gallery’s issues were really injuries. He couldnt stay healthy. Ended up saving his career as an OG but turned out more of a 4th round pick then a 2nd overall pick. He had the knee, back and elbow issue. The back really killed his NFL career then as he moved to OG and got rhythm he injured his elbow which pretty much put an end to him. Once you have a back injury it is pretty hard to bounce back.
