I hope that THEIR top guy is Toppin bc I don't see a clear cut guy to this point. But I will point out, with all the Cavs luck previously getting top picks I expect them to fall to 5 lol
Yeah...no doubt lately we have been making up for all the good lottery luck we had in the past.

How about the 8 worst teams play a tournament? Winner gets 1st pick, loser gets second pick and soon. Instead of the lottery.

More risk for the players would have to take on bc of injury but also bc of the epidemic...I actually like this idea just though. Not sure if bodes well for the Cavs LOL

You want to do away with tanking?

Won’t completely solve it, but this is your best bet.

Have the bottom 6 or 8 playoff to determine draft order. Also add a rule that any player missing more than a certain percentage of the final 20 regular season games is ineligible to participate in the draft tournament. So like Curry and Klay couldn’t play this year.

We need to put our heads together and formalize a plan to the nba on this one

That's an interesting idea.

Isn't there usually about a week between the end of the regular season and the start of the playoffs?

They could have it then.

It would generate a little extra revenue for the teams and league as well.

How would HCA be determined? Team with the worst record gets it? Or team with the best record? I could see a case for either.

So 16 playoff teams, 8 in the draft tournament. The other 6 are screwed? Talk about a weird choice (try or tank)

Yeah was thinking about GS with Curry and Klay...they would be ineligible. Good for CLE

@Shanemansj13 @dtgold88

Too busy doing nothing to go back and read a bunch of comments. Who do you want the Cavs to take?
Cannot say I've scouted anyone or seen enough of them play to even make a guess. I just hope someone is the obvious choice for them and they go BPA.

sorry...I know it's a copout.

I have a suggestion. Trade the pick to Boston. :heh:

2020 NBA Draft player comparisons (some of these are my opinion, some are comparisons I have seen that I agree with)

I just picked one mock draft as a base (I don't necessarily think this is the order), looking over some mock drafts these are all over the place. Every single one is pretty different.

1. Anthony Edwards - Victor Oladipo but he is further along than Oladipo was at this point. Donovan Mitchell another one.
2. Obi Toppin - Shawn Marion or Amare with less size and more versatile
3. LaMelo Ball - Shaun Livingston is a nice comparison at this point.
4. James Wiseman - Hassan Whiteside
5. Killian Hayes - Goran Dragic/lite Manu Ginobili
6. Tyrese Haliburton - Lonzo Ball - Sam Cassell
7. Onyeka Okongwu - Tristan Thompson
8. Deni Avdija - Dario Saric or Nic Batum. Ceiling - I think he could be Danny Granger type, guard multiple positions and if he has nice potential if he can expand his offensive game.
9. Isaac Okoro - Justice Winslow or ultra-lite Iggy
10. Daniel Oturu - Jamal Magloire or David West
11. Cole Anthony - another tricky one. Mike Conley or Kemba Walker. I think his ceiling is pretty high.
12. Precious Achiuwa - Montrezl Harrell - Ceiling: Pascal Siakam
13. Vernon Carey - Al Jefferson
14. Aaron Nesmith - Buddy Hield
15. Theo Maledon - Kirk Hinrich
16. Jaden McDaniels - Otto Porter
17. RJ Hampton - Floor - Dante Exum, Ceiling - DeAaron Fox type. Great wingspan needs to improve defense but I think he has a higher ceiling than most.
18. Nico Mannion - Jeff Teague o Landry Shamet
19. Josh Green - Kelly Oubre, Danny Green or lite Victor Oladipo
20. Reggie Perry - Wendell Carter Jr.
21. Tyrese Maxey - Jason Terry or Kyle Lowry
22. Devin Vassell - Tayshaun Prince or Khris Middleton
23. Saddiq Bey - Keita Bates-Diop
24. Jahmius Ramsey - J.R. Smith
25. Patrick Williams - Jeff Green
26. Isaiah Stewart - Elton Brand or Derrick Favors
27. Zeke Nnaji - P.J. Brown
28. Udoka Azubuike - Bismack Biyombo
29. Devon Dotson - Yogi Ferrell
30. Tre Jones - Jalen Brunson

I don't like those comps for Oturu. Magloire didn't attempt a single 3 pointer in his career. Oturu can stretch the floor alot more than he can. I just think overall he's more skilled too, as far as ball handling, and shooting touch. I also think he's a better shot blocker. I'm not saying he'll be a better pro, because Oturu does alot of dumbass things and might not be mentally tough enough, but overall I think his skill set is better. West is a little bit better. But they don't even play the same position. Oturu took a huge step in development his sophomore year. If he can improve his decision making and shoot it a touch better he's going to be really good. I don't think he'll go in the lottery, but should be a top 20 pick.
