Alright, seasons under way and this roster is still young which means there is going to be a revolving door of guys coming and going until they find that happy medium so I thought a transaction log needs to be kept

For what it's worth he was once considered one of the best catching prospects in baseball. Dipoto seems to enjoy taking fliers on guys who could be late bloomers.

Not saying it's an impactful trade, but you never know.

Sadzeck, 27, made eight Cactus League appearances with the Rangers this spring, posting a 7.56 ERA (seven earned runs, 8 1/3 innings pitched) with 11 strikeouts and eight walks. The big right-hander — he stands 6 feet, 7 inches tall — has a fastball that can touch 100 mph. But his secondary pitches are considered below average to nonexistent. He made two starts and 11 relief appearances last season for the Rangers, posting a 0.96 ERA (one earned run, 9 1/3 innings pitched) with seven strikeouts and 11 walks.

Anderson, 21, was a 21st-round selection in last year’s MLB draft out of McNeese State University. He appeared in 10 games with the Arizona Rookie League Mariners. He posted a 1-1 record with a save and a 2.00 ERA (two earned runs, nine innings pitched) with six strikeouts and five walks. He also made one appearance with short-season Everett and Low-A Clinton.

Swarzak (shoulder) was activated from the 10-day IL prior to Tuesday's game against the Angels.

With Hunter Strickland (shoulder) on the 60-day IL, Swarzak could start factoring into the ninth-inning mix immediately. He lacks a high ceiling and his floor isn't all that high either, but it's possible he could save double-digit games while Strickland is sidelined. Cory Gearrin seems like his toughest challenger for saves going forward.

Mallex Smith improvements.

#1. Get rid of that ridiculous Florida Change that smacks you in the face when you swing and run.
#2. Drop the rag on your head that causes your helmet to move when you swing and falls off immediately when you run.

What I said back in Feb:

Tell me if somebody who did the following could ever reinvent themselves to something resembling a competent GM:
1. traded 2 prospects to ATL for Mallex Smith

2. then traded Mallex Smith and 2 prospects for Drew Smyly who never played game for Ms

3. then traded Zunino and Heredia for Mallex Smith.

Yes, that's right. We have GM who, over the course of 2 years, traded a bunch of prospects, Zunino, Heredia, and Mallex Smith for......Mallex Smith.

I know that Zunino and Heredia have not done well this year. Plassmeyer is doing great in single A, but who knows what that means.

But fuck, no matter how you try to spin it, Dipoto is a clusterfuck piece of shit GM.

Mariners To Promote J.P. Crawford, Shed Long

This could make things somewhat more watchable for me

yeah It makes things more interesting I am not really sure how they will use them looks like Dee Gordon will be out for a little bit of time and it seems like the mariners might bench Tim Beckham? It would be nice if Crawford can play 3rd base and switch him back and forth with Healy and Beckham.

Well this is the beginning phases of what Dipoto wanted in the lineup we will see how Crawford and Long will play

So... somehow, some way the M's manage to trade Swarzak to the Braves for a set of pitchers.

Braves gets: Swarzak and 1.8m from the M's to cover part of his 8m contract this year.
M's gets: LHP Jesse Biddle and RHP Arodys Vizcaino

These two guys aren't upgrades by any means as Vizcaino has season ending surgery and Biddle was DFA'd. Merely a salary dump move.

Braves needs a closer so I guess they're gonna rely on Swarzak to close games. Good luck Braves.

No kidding. If I was a Braves fan I'd be pissed.

In terms of money it's a neutral move, but at least Biddle has some upside and is controllable. It's a minor trade but I think it's a win for the Mariners. As I said in the other thread, I'd rather have Biddle than Swarzak who has been awful and has no upside.

Even if Biddle is worse than Swarzak it doesn't make much of a difference since Swarzak was going to be a free agent after the end of the season.

Look like JP Crawford rolled his ankle yesterday and had to be helped off the field. Appeared in 17 games this season.
Chances are, he's going on the IL.

Expect more time for Beckham.
