i just dont see how a guy could break a single season ncaa record of ANY CONFERENCE. and not have some ability to make guys miss........
Well..

NCAA records-
Most passing yards per game, Dave Klingler
Most passing yards, career, Case Keenum
most passing yards, season, BJ Symons
most rushing yards per game, Barry Sanders
Most rushing yards, career, Ron Dayne
Most rushing yards season, Barry Sanders
most rushing yards, game, Sam. Perine
most receptions, career, Zay Jones
most receiving TD's, career, Jarret Dillard

Is Zay Jones a great ball catcher? Was Ron Dayne a great rusher? Was Klingler, or Keenum, a great passer?

Breaking and/or holding significant NCAA records doesn't necessarily mean you were great, let alone obscure ones which have a debatable method of actually being calculated.

Honestly, if missed tackles was an official stat back in Barry's tenure at OSU, Montgomery wouldn't have the record.
In fact, the entire category and defining body only dates back 4 years..Ameer Abdullah could've had more

college players projecting to the pros is always so much of a crap shoot, regardless of their stats or level of competition they faced.

Some guys just didn't have the pedigree to get into one of the big schools, but are still uber talented and would've played great regardless of which school they went to or which team drafts them.
Some guys get snubbed by the power conferences, or the NFL combine/draft (or both) and carry that rejection with them into the pros to light a fire and propel them to stardom.

Plenty of 5 star recruits that crush it in NCAA suck balls in the NFL.
Plenty of 5 star recruits pitter out in NCAA and never do anything or even make it to the NFL.

I know I'm not telling y'all anything you don't know here, just providing a refresher.
So so so many variables go into it, EXTREMELY hard to evaluate as fantasy guys when the professional scouts and analysts get so many wrong

almost all dynasty mocks list WR ahead of rb's in ranks and drafts. I feel like most everyone i play with takes the rb's first.

Yeah me too, but i don't think i'll mind if that trend continues this year.

Nice synopsis.

Imagine the NFL with 100 more teams. That's NCAA D1 football.
Doesn't take much to see the cream rise to the top in a 32-team NFL.

That is true, however, remember that almost all dynasty league are full ppr and so are the mocks. .... just not mbbrl D1. Thus, in our league it shifts TD potential well above number of catches. .... it severely down grades WRs and TEs in comparison to RBs. ... not a member of D2 but have to assume the values are much closer there.

Think it has at least a little to do with these mocks not having an actual team to run attached to the picks. They're aren't taking into account what the team at 1.1 needs, let alone 1.5, 1.7..etc.
Now in this particular case, the 2QB league (let's call a super flex what it truly, is cuz whenever possible, the super flex is going to be a QB), yeah, the team with the worst record, most likely needs a strong QB2, but in regular standard and ppr leagues, if your team sucked enough to garner a top 5 pick, what are the odds that it was because you didn't have enough options at WR? Most likely you were running out a gaggle of crap RB's, some of whom probably won't have a role next season (Clement, Adams, Gus, CJ,.. you get the point).
So yeah, in a vacuum, a WR that looks to assume a starting role, and has possibly twice the longevity of a RB provably does value out as being more worthy of a top pick, but that doesn't mean there's a snowballs chance in hell it'll play out at all like that.

a gaggle of crap
Love it.
Since my first pick in D2 is #48, I'm guessing that "a gaggle of crap" is what I'll be looking to choose from.

Been watching lots of documentaries lately

even if you were just joking, check out this documentary if you have some time to kill, about NYPD officers that were whistle blowers on illegal arrest quotas enforced in poor parts of the city.

Crime + Punishment

film maker is my brother in law, Steve Maing, super great guy, even if I'm a bit biased.
been winning lots of awards at various film festivals the past year, got bought by Hulu as well.

shameless plug is over, back to Joe's favorite topic, ROOKIES!!!

It was jokingly of course, but yes I have been. Wife works nights, so I have to wait to catch up on our weekly shows instead of watching them at the same time everyone else does, so, its Netflix and chill...by myself...lol.

Is it on Netflix, prime or Hulu?

PS @averagejoe ..the Rookies a better topic than hockey :suds:
