2019 Preseason thread

Pats up first on Thur. 7:30 ESt I believe. I am not expecting much to come out of this but I will watch with double interest of course. Should be mostly 3s and some 2s early.

I just played this on Madden 20 rookie difficulty. I assume it is accurate, so the Lions win 63-10. Ty Johnson runs for 247 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Last thing, Patricia didn't say how much his starters will play Thursday, but I don't expect key players like Matthew Stafford, Kerryon Johnson, Kenny Golladay or Quandre Diggs to see the field. (Jarrad Davis and Da'Shawn Hand are still dealing with injuries and absolutely won't play, and Mike Daniels still hasn't practiced.)

Let see how some of these rookies do. I expect to see all except Hock. Also want to see some of the offensive plays.

I just looked up at the preseason scores. Are patriots second unit's that much better than ours? Yikes!

The Lions backups looked like Pop Warner backups.

Patriots had 9 sacks tonight.

your 61-10 was halved the other way. Patriots 31- Lions 3. That's the final.

I was also off by about 225 yards for Johnson....stupid madden

Pretty pitiful. I expected the offense to be a little disorganized but that was beyond. These guys looked worn out from the opening play too. Ty Johnson was the only offensive player worth his salt. Jessie James was decent but was only in for a series. The entire O-line stunk. Crosby got burned 3 times and the rest were not much better. Dahl was the only one who looked salvageable. The WRs, TEs and QBs sucked period. The defense was not great either. Mike Ford went from almost being a starter to not making the team now. Orwariuye looked like he still needs a lot of work. The LBs still look bad. Only CJ Johnson looked decent on the D-line. He has no Pass rush though. Andrew Adams was not bad either in the secondary but no way he could cover guys with all the time they had to throw.

If the 1s and 2s look like this next week we are in big trouble.

I normally don't make much of preseason football but if this is what the Lions have for depth we in some trouble.

I didn't watch last nights game but what you've stated above doesn't look good.

I hope that D-Line gets healthy quick because this O-Line needs as many reps possible against better players, no ?

I have to agree with your entire statement.

I also don't make much of pre-season games (mostly due to the washed down affect since the last cba- less practices in pads- saving players for the reg-season so as not to get injuries, etc). Lets hope it's mostly related 1st pre-season action.
