Ok, so I've compiled my notes and here's how I project out the top dozen or so players:

    Tier 1: Rutschman

    Tier 2: Witt

    Tier 3: Vaughn, Abrams, Greene

    Tier 4: Bleday, Lodolo

Tier 5: Langeliers, Manoah, Stott, Bishop, Rutledge

We pick 10. Rutschman and Witt almost certainly won't fall to us. Probably not Vaughn or Abrams. Greene is unlikely.

So given all that, I'd be pretty stoked if we got Bleday or Lodolo. We won't take Langeliers (we have Joey Bart).

My preference, in terms of players possibly there at 10:

    1. Lodolo
    2. Bleday
    3. Rutledge
    4. Manoah
    5. Stott -- a lot of people think this is our pick.
    6. Bishop

A lot of smoke around Stott. He projects to stay at SS, so that is nice...

He's also got...wait for it.... positional flexibility. Can play CF. A very FH pick.

Giants got to be somewhat predictable in recent years with the draft (after having the same regime for 10+ years, makes it pretty easy), but no clue what to expect this year. The dodger's recent draft history has been toosly college guys with questionable hit tools and JUCO athletes.

They really need some high-end pitching. They also need a SS pretty bad (Luciano, while potential super-stud, is all they got).

    They also need outfielders.

    And first basemen.

    And second basemen.

    And third basemen.

    And...

FWIW, Melissa Lockhard's mock has 1-7 identical to mine. She has us taking Stott at 10

Any good ownership prospects in the draft this year?

I hear rumors, with that helipad you have, that you could be a possible pick. You'd have to work your way up to majority share, though. No guarantees of promotion.

I expect to own Augusta this year, with a guarantee of ownership in Richmond by next year.

They must see some promise in you for that kind of jump (or you may have a rather exaggerated understanding of your owning skills).

Most recent fangraph's mock has the Giants taking Hunter Bishop. He definitely falls in line with recent players the FZ liked with the dodgers. Big athlete, big power, some contact concerns.

A good reminder that baseball is not real life.

I am kinda unplugged on this year’s draft as well. Everything seems to be pointing to us taking Stott, though.

Yeah I haven't a clue. I look at Bishop's numbers and they seem good so I wouldn't mind that. Whoever they take will fill a 'need'

Here's a pretty interesting draft article related to prep players. There's a belief this year that a significant number of high school bats are willing to forego some money in the draft because they don't want to go to college. The reason behind it is because many collegiate programs are well behind the times and notorious for breaking swings/approaches (the infamous "Stanford" swing is one that always comes to mind), whereas the majority of ML teams are more in-line with the current climate.

There is also a shift happening that college isn't as important to this generation that it was to the last couple of generations, so I wouldn't be surprised if that plays into it as well.
