I know it's early but I'm curious how Broncos Country is leaning so far. Comments appreciated!

NFL sources: Broncos to select QB Drew Lock
134763.jpg

"Everything" Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline has heard since the East-West Shrine Game has the Denver Broncos selecting Missouri QB Drew Lock.

The Broncos hold the 10th overall pick, and the organization doesn't seem sold on Case Keenum, who is just a bridge quarterback. That puts John Elway and Co. right in the middle of the 2019 QB class, but it appears that they would need to trade up to select Dwayne Haskins. However, we aren't even sure that the Broncos have Haskins over Lock (6'4/233) with report after report linking the Missouri quarterback to Denver. It's weird to see this amount of smoke this early into #DraftSZN, but Lock checks the boxes that Elway loves in a quarterback prospect -- large frame and a big arm.

I think it is safe to say Elway is all in. He is no poker player.T he will now cost us to get him. I believe this is the first time I been really pissed at Elway. We might as well put up a huge sign in 31 cities.

We talked our way out of Mayfield last year.

I think it would be smart to wait for 2020 to draft our QB. I am not sure Lock will be available at 10 and a trade up isn't high on my list. Roll with Keenum this year as I believe the coaching staff did him very few favors last year. Then see where we are in 2020. I think we need to draft a QB this year that can be our backup of the future however.

I agree on waiting on a QB to draft.

Wait, what, huh? I heard all season long around here Broncos fans saying Keenum's problems were due to Vance Joseph (which is complete BS). Like you said, Keenum's a back up. But w/ Elway's beyond awful QB draft selections the organization might want to put someone else in charge of picking a QB. Denver will go nowhere w/ CK under center.

I'm questioning if Lock as the Bronco's target - mainly because it is so apparently out in the open - which for the Broncos usually means - they have their eye somewhere else.

He did have a problem. Play action he was damn solid at it.

We can with Keenum Vikings showed that.

He is just barely an NFL QB that is a fact .all the same I want real QB and in this draft not going to happen.

I would rather limp for however, it takes to get a real QB.

If D. Haskins is at 3 the Broncos can move up and get him. The Jets don't need a QB

The cost will be pretty high. Our 1st and 2nd this year is probably only a start.

Umm, no.

What you've heard all season is CEH and one or two others say that Keenum is a backup. Most of us believe that Keenum can do better, with the right offensive scheme around him.

Considering he's got the 4th best rating for qb's when it comes to PA passing, and that Musgrave ran PA the least of any team in the NFL, it stands to reason that he's set up for failure. And yes, that the coaches (Vance) fault.

I'd be much happier taking BPA at 10, or trading back once or twice, and setting up 2020 for the qbotf pick.

We still have enough holes that we will likely still be one or two spots away from a contender even with another great draft like this year.

You get Mannion if your goal is to finish with the #1 overall pick next year. He is down right terrible to the point the Rams were trying to find a replacement because they knew he wasn't even a viable backup option.

To me can we absolutely say the 2020 class is going to be anything special? I really like Justin Herbert but he regressed a lot over the 2nd half of the season. Tua has quite a few people around the NFL questioning whether he is a viable option in the NFL. Fromm is up and down in what he shows on the field.

Honestly the one guy that could jump all of them is the kid from Utah State in Jordan Love. To me if there is a guy in this 2019 draft that the Broncos love then get the guy and train him up. They have another year with Keenum so don't have to rush the kid onto the field and can help a guy like Lock work on some of his footwork issues just like the Chiefs did with Mahomes.

Elway gave Keenum $25MM guaranteed to be 6-10
Yeah Elway will most likely move on from Keenum. This is not a rookie who is going through growing pains. This was a veteran who failed to live up to his contract.

Broncos are working on a new deal for Keenum. They want to lower his cap hit but from what I understand he is expected to still be a Bronco this upcoming season.

I am not opposed to that, I am sure that will extend him 1 or 2 years with the team.

Sooner is always better. Lock at 10 great. Trading up to 2 NOOOOO. Trading up to 5 I can live with. I want QB but, only IF we are sold on him not just to take one. We could address DL MLB CB S at 10. FA will clear things up come draft.
