that Riot Fest lineup is pretty great.

Seems like many of the acts come from, +/or go on to join other roaming music fests during the year anyway, and after perusing that lineup, there's only about a handful of bands on it that I wouldn't mind seeing which is probably something like 15-20%, if that....and should some of them head out this way as is usually the case, I probably will. Everyone else is pretty much meh..no thanks.

Unfortunately that's the way it goes with most of those 2 & 3 day multi band events these days. Plus the overall cost of it is so outrageously expensive, and besides, I'm getting a little long in the tooth for them anyhow.
Not enough bang for my buck anymore, but 10-20+ yrs ago I was totally into all of it, and would travel all around the country for them.

I went to Death Grips.

I'm old enough to be your dad probably.

yeah I won't be going. Just too far and I've already seen a good chunk of the bands. Just thought it was a really good lineup.

Pavement playing two reunion shows. Hopefully they'll announce some U.S. tour dates.

I actually caught some of their set 7 or 8 years ago at Bonnaroo, the last time I went.
It will grind on you...their sound, that is.

I think that's probably why they only play an hour max. Well, that and the frenetic pace and energy that they (especially Stefan aka MC Ride) put into each performance.

The singer/rapper throws down some heavy heavy shit if you parse the lyrics.

I made a clean break from all forms of conventional music when I got divorced nearly 30 years ago. I had been in bands (rock/metal) and had served in technical roles for bands, but at the end of the 80's I was looking for more...you know? It felt like everything had been done to that point...then I heard Acid House and Breakbeat/Hardcore Rave music. It flipped my wig. These dudes in DG incorporate a few different genres of these 'new' types of music, and rock etc.

More than anything I guess is the lyrical content...it intrigues me as I have dealt with many of the same issues/feelings that this guy is putting out there. This song made me cry because it hit home so hard:

Check out the page for this video on YT...lots of info about where they are and the lyrics are there as well.

I'm almost 52...mentally I'm still 19, physically I'm 90 some days.

Trying to go see Titus Andronicus in DC in July at Comet Ping Pong but the fucker is sold out. Cheapest tickets on Stub Hub are $75...but I think that includes some child sex trafficking action.

Mudhoney is playing in Tacoma Friday. It’s sold out, and I’m bummed. Originally passed because price seemed high, now I don’t remember what it even was and regret it.

Looks like it’s kicking off a tour though, don’t make the same mistake I did.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned ,or if anyone cares...but, Bob Seger is currently on his final tour.

He'll be passing thru the Bay Area in late Sept.
I may have to check him out for 1 last time before he hangs it up. I last saw him in LA back in the early 80's with his Silver Bullet Band..and they put on a pretty damn good show.
