Tournament Thread 2019 CIT

The first game is happening already with Quinnipiac visiting NJIT. The tournament is run by the College Insider website and is meant to serve as a showcase for non-power conference teams that didn't get an NIT bid or accept the CBI's invitation. The rest of the 1st Round is spread throughout this week and runs on the old NIT "Figure It As We Go" format.

Marshall beats IUPUI to advance. Robert Morris beats Cornell in OT.

Presbyterian marches West and marches on after a win at Seattle. The Blue Hose beat the Redhawks in what looks like a high school gym. I can't help, but question how some of these D1 schools are allowed to identify as such.

I know Seattle’s coach. He used to go to our church when he coached at Whitworth and Eastern Washington.

Among the games last night was Charleston Southern beating FAU in a game that came down to the wire with the Buccaneers advancing. Like Seattle, CSU plays their home games in a small gym that maybe seats a thousand on a good day.

Presbyterian beats Robert Morris and will meet up with Marshall in the Quarterfinals.

The Marshall Thundering Herd are your CIT Champions, beating Green Bay 90-70. The game doesn't air on CBSSN until tomorrow night. It may show up on Watch CIT's site later on for On Demand or we'll all just have to wait until tomorrow night to watch on replay which is stupid.

The Herd become the 3rd C-USA team to win this tournament, the others being Old Dominion who won the 1st ever CIT in 2009 and East Carolina, now part of the American Athletic who won on a buzzer beater in 2013.
