Liverpool now ahead of their group after the win and Napoli draw Tuesday. They beat Napoli in 3 weeks and they advance to the group stage and Klop can take the U19 team to Salzburg like he does for the domestic cups.

A game off for the Senior players would be great. Now they are playing two games in two days (in Birmingham and in Qatar) in December for the Carabao and Club World Cups.

Read somewhere that for the League Cup (Carabao), they'll play a junior/younger squad, which isn't that big a deal since most of the "big" teams do that anyway, at least until the last game or two.

But just another example of how the FA never actually helps any of the English teams and cause constant match congestion, you see the Spanish, German etc FAs moving league and cup games to help out their teams in international competitions, but never the English FA...twats.

Apparently FIFA have stipulated that the squad of players for the World club cup have to be in Qatar three days before the first game (for PR stuff) so none of them will be able to play in the Villa game (at least in previous rounds Milner, Origi, Ox etc have played).

From what I've seen, the "main" squad will play in Qatar, the 2nd string/youth etc with play in the League Cup.

Liverpool did themselves no favors with squad management yesterday with that tie. Now they probably have to beat/tie Salzburg in Salzburg in the final group game. Wouldn't it be wild if Jessie March knocks out Liverpool in that final game? It is very possible after that first match.

I agree it's going to be tough, although I also remember thinking the first match was going to be a rout when Liverpool raced into a 3-0 lead. Should be plenty of goals anyway. Haaland only played the last 30 minutes of that game too.
