I feel like we have not talked at all about the season. I’ve been busy, but also I just haven’t come on.

MVP: Donovan Mitchell
Mr. Reliable: Bojan Bogdanovic
Mr. Out of Place: Joe Ingles
Mr. Adjustor: Mike Conley
Sixth Man: Mudiay
Mr. Up and Coming But Probably Stuck Where He Is: Tony Bradley
Mr. Irrelevant: Dante Exum

Why is Exum irrelevant?

Why is Mitchell the MVP?

How long of an adjustment period is Conley given?

I've seen his quotes about how different it is to go from playing with Marc Gasol his whole career, to different players on the Jazz.

We also need to get his FT shooting back to 82%+, and steals back to 1.3+.

Ingles could be in place if they started him over O'Neale.

Exum is irrelevant until he makes himself relevant. He’s coming in for 2 to 3 to 4 minutes. I believe that’s as long as he can play before he gets injured.

Mitchell is the MVP because he is scoring the most, has more rebounds, and more assists than Bogdanovich. We can change it and run the offense through Bogdanovic, but as the system is run through Mitchell, that’s how it goes.

Free throw percentage should not drop as much as it has.

They don’t want to start Ingles because then they wouldn’t have anyone besides Mudiay... hello, Exum? And O’Neale by default.

But Ingles isn’t playing well on the bench, so what good is it? My thought is that he’ll turn it around. But it won’t be as good as if he were starting or in prior years.

OK, I have to say it, but I’m getting tired that Mitchell can’t shoot above .500. He’s had two games of exactly .500 in the last 14. One game above that in the last 16 (11-21). Overall, he’s probably fine because his percentage is his career high. It should get better over time until it plateaus and drops. But I need some peaks beyond the first five games.

Conley is not shooting well, but I just looked at his career year by year and I can’t expect much more than what he’s doing. We just need to expect a little improvement and take what else we get from him.

Don’t look now, but Ingles may be turning it around.

I want my star player to shoot well. I want my point guard to get assists. Frankly, if I am being honest, I don’t even care if we win.

Actually, I do, but I don’t expect too much so I want assists and respectable shooting. No, I don’t need above 500 average to be respectable. That would be ridiculous. Stockton and Malone expectations. I just want to every once in a while shoot above 500.

That's fair about Mitchell.

I think Conley's shooting is way below his career. I would also think the 6 assists he usually averages is attainable too.

So you mentioned 3 tings. Star player shooting well; point guard getting assists, and winning.

What if the star player shot well, the PG didn't get assists, and the Jazz won?

(That's an improvement over the current reality, but just asking how happy you would be.)

Also, do you have any desires of steal averages?

I know you don't like this as much as individual assists, but where have the Jazz ranked in team assist % or team assists per game, since 2010?

Bogdanovich is slumping... I wonder if it is because of Conley being out? I wonder if Ingles doesn’t work as well with him?

I hope I don’t jinx it, but Mitchell has four games in a row of over 50% shooting, 5 out of 6 games. He must be listening to me. I told them also to win more games and to score more than their opponents. This four game streak is with Ingles starting, three without Conley. Let’s overreact. Just kidding.

48/84. Nice palindrome. 57.14%.
67/126 in the last 6. 53.2%
78/150 in the last 7. 52%
84/169 in the last 8. 49.7%

Only 8-27 from 3 these past four games. 29.6%.
40/57 on 2s. 70.7%.
Ingles finds him for cutters, stretches the D?

Ingles is 24/41 in the last 4. 58.5%
51.9% as starter. 36.2% off the bench.
50% Threes versus 31.2%. Small sample. 28 attempts.
90 versus 75% FT shooting, but small sample size.
Slump followed by coincidental starting role? Or simply because starters around him make him better. Maybe he makes Mitchell better?

Gobert? 52/74 with Ingles starting. 70.3%.
I make that as a joke, because he’s already shooting 67.3% regardless.
But he is 94/143 with Ingles in the bench.
But he averages 9.25 shots with Ingles starting versus 7.15. 16.8 PPG versus 13.9.
But that may just be due to fewer Conley shots? Just a bigger scoring option recently regardless? He had a better 4 game span earlier this year with Ingles on the bench.

Bogdanovich?
54/133 with Ingles starting. 40.6%. 47.4 with Ingles on the bench.
22.2 PPG Ingles on bench, versus 22.0.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just kidding.
Bogdanovich is on a shooting slump though. 37.9% in last 9 games, all December.

@nuraman00 What are your thoughts about the Exum-Clarkson trade?

Now that we are playing the 500th game of the year today, what are your thoughts about the season so far league wide?

Or do you want to wait until the 615 mark where we have played half the games?

I told you my initial thoughts here:

If I used to pick against the Thunder for having Carmelo, I wonder if I'll have to pick against the Jazz, for having Clarkson.

:L

Since then, I've only seen one Jazz game with Clarkson in uniform, the TNT game last week.

He didn't shoot well, but I liked how he played within the offense. He seemed to take good shots, not nutbangers.
