2006 was our year. I still find it hard to accept we got swept out in 3 by the wild card Oakland A's. 2010 was another year. The hottest team in baseball going in....swept by Yankees in 3. That was when I gave up on Mauer, Marshmorneau and Gardenhire. It was clear they couldnt lead us anywhere. Lose the series? Ok. But not even one win in those three series?

So what about our catchers?
Gimenez and Castro cant hit to save their lives....or their jobs.
We got to see Garver and Astudillo get playing time and produce. I dont see the defense of Castro being much better than either of those two (if at all), and I just dont give a shit about "framing" pitches. I want the guy that delivers at the plate. Those two will produce far more runs than Castro can ever hope to "save". It wont even be close.
No more rally killing catchers please.
I like watching Astudillo. He puts the ball in play. I have been bitching for years about this teams inability to put wood on the ball. Even if you get an out, you can still be productive. Unless, of course, you strike out all the time (Castro, Sano, Dozier, Buxton, ect....you know the names). Move on from Castro please.

When I see it i'll think... yeah Greg Gagne was a pretty damn good player!
Honestly I have more an issue with Blyleven having his number retired. Mauer shouldn't get his retired either but he's more deserving than Bert.
