We won't but doesn't eating a million or 2 on Zajac's deal make him incredibly appealing as a trade chip? Great in the faceoff circle, kills penalties, can really play in any scenario. A team looking for a vet/depth move up the middle I think would jump on that.

its not like i had so much hate towards Hynes, not at all... but that extension has completely dismantled my sense of reasoning.....

before the extension the Devils were W15 L24 38%
after the extension the Devils are W6 L11 35%

I don't think this is entirely Hynes fault at all. Combination of injuries, overachieving last season, poor free agency class last summer, goaltending inconsistencies, and a defense that needs help but has not received any help are all contributing factors. What immediate improvement can we really point out that Shero made the past year?

As for firing Hynes, this is not the right time. This team will not make the playoffs this season even with a crazy run.
We get a new coach, sure the team will be fired up and end up with some wins, but it will not make a difference besides the team finishing higher in standings and we get that 9,10,11 pick in the draft. Season is done.
