Nadal might have the toughest draw. Almost every grass court specialist is in that bracket.

If Fed can win this one it would be a miracle.

Come on, don't be absurd. The man is the odds on favorite and you are claiming a miracle when he wins?

So I'm off tomorrow due to the holiday and took off on Friday/Monday as well. This will be the most Wimbledon I get to watch in several years. If I'm thinking correctly that is about 6 days. Nearly half of the tournament.

Haven't started watching yet. Here are my predictions, which sometimes get blown up but are just for fun.

++++++++++

Men's Draw:

Murray's Quarter:

Seppi vs. Haas 1st round: Go Tommy Haas. Haas in 4.

Wawrinka vs. Tsonga 4th round: For some reason I'm thinking Wawrinka wins in 3. Just one of those unexpected results.

Wawrinka vs. Murray QF: Murray should be favored, but if Wawrinka is going to make another good run here, he has to win this. Won't be easy, but maybe he does it in 5?

Nadal's Quarter:

His draw looks pretty good, and he's been good all year.

Nadal vs. Cilic QF: It would be cool for either player to have another good run. Both are good stories. I'll say Cilic in 4, after a few years of tough losses for him.

Federer's Quarter:

Federer vs. Zverev 4th round: It's scary how well FED played in this matchup a week ago. It won't be this easy the next time.

This might be like his matchups vs. Del Potro in 2009, where FED won easily at the AO, then almost lost at the FO, then did lose at the USO.

I'll say FED in 4, but wouldn't be surprised at a loss.

Djokovic's Quarter:

Djokovic-Del Potro 3rd round: I just don't trust Del Potro until he can stay healthy for a full year. Djokovic in 3.

Monfils vs. Djokovic 4th round: I can't see this one being competitive. Djokovic in 3.

Thiem vs. Berdych 4th round: Thiem, Berdych seems to be slipping. Thiem in 3.

Djokovic vs. Thiem QF: Thiem does it again? Thiem in 4.

Wawrinka vs. Cilic SF: Another scary matchup for Wawrinka. Cilic has a good chance to win in 3. But I will go Wawrinka in 5, in a thrilling match.

FED vs. Thiem SF: FED has had such a streak of not dropping a set in the SF, until last year. I guess I'll be BOLD and say he's back to that level, and FED in 3?

Wawrinka vs. FED Finals: This will be tough for me to watch, because I don't want either player to lose. I'd say FED in 4, but would be happy for Wawrinka if he won.

Women's Draw:

Kerber's Quarter:

I hope Kerber can find her form. I think Bacsinsky comes out of this quarter.

Pliskova's Quarter:

Pliskova should make this. A QF matchup with Wozniacki might be interesting. But then Wozniacki has seemed to struggle more than in past years, this year, against power players.

I hope for Wozniacki's sake, she can find a way to return those balls and get the point started.

But I'd still pick Pliskova.

Svitolina's Quarter:

Ostapenka vs. Venus QF: Ostapenka makes more errors, so I'll take Venus. Venus in 2.

Halep's Quarter:

Halep can handle power players sometimes. But I think it will be harder for her on grass.

Kvitova vs. Halep 4th round: This could get ugly. Kvitova in 2.

Kvitova vs. Konta QF: This is a pick-em, but I'll go with Kvitova in 2.

Bacsinsky vs. Pliskova SF: Another pick-em. Rooting for Pliskova, but I think Bacsinsky wins this in 2 as she makes less errors.

Venus vs. Kvitova SF: Venus' best chance is in straight sets. I don't know about her stamina in longer matches.

Kvitova in 2.

Bacsinsky vs. Kvitova Finals: The WTA's lack of having someone able to win consistently continues. Bacsinsky in 2.

Tough to watch those kind of performances. Quit after quit. Glad I did not see any of Tomic. Such promise, wasted.

As discussed on ESPN today, these guys want that first round prize money so even though they're hurt and probably not fit enough to compete, they still show up and once things get rough then they quit.

Need to start paying opening round money by games won.

The ESPN guys suggested rewarding these guys with 50% or more of their first round check if they're not fit enough to play while giving someone else their spot in the GS event.
