2016-2017 Basketball thread

We're actually...not sucking this year. Nice win over Clemson.

And also nice wins over UNC and FSU. We're 4-4 in conference play and 12-8 overall. It looks like we're on pace for an NIT bid this year. If we go on a hot streak we might even make it to the dance.

We're 17-13 overall right now. 8-9 in conference play. Our last game is vs Syracuse and then on to the ACC tourney. We probably need at least 2 more wins to get a tourney bid.

I think we're probably going to be a solid NIT team.

Considering that our athletic director warned our new head coach that we might not win a single conference game this year I'd say this season has been a tremendous success.

We made it to the final four in the NIT. I'd call this season a win.

NIT Championship game here we come! Woooooo!

Well, we kinda got stomped in the NIT championship game. I started watching at the end of the first half. We got the lead down to 8 points early in the 2nd half....then the wheels came off the cart. We play solid defense, but our offense is marginal. The other team also played good defense and forced a *bunch* of turnovers for easy baskets. Plus the other team dominated on the glass. 32 point loss. Ouch.


Overall this season is an improvement over the last few years. I look forward to next year.
