Notables for me.

Grant and Chickillo making it, then getting cut and clearing waivers...both were considered up and coming rookies and I think we all knew Chick was on the edge because of the #s at LB, but Grant was a bit of a surprise...I assume a calculated risk that paid off as they got both guys on the PS.

Landry...I really believe Gradk going down saved him...with a healthy Gradk, they could've kept 2 QB with Murphy as the slash WR/QB...I still think we might see Murphy play a role on some 2 pt tries or something.

Jordan Todman...apparently Harris was not 100%...this guy is more proven...excellent find imo to share the load with Williams and considering how Tomlin likes vets, I can see him sticking after Bell returns.

Cockrell...Face had this kid in one of our mocks a yr ago...hopefully caoch Lake can work with this guy...like his size.

Murphy...I talked to several fans that thought Shakim Phillips was the better player in preseason. I think they feel pretty good about DHB in this limited role as WR3 and Coates gets any snaps that he doesn't get probably so WR5 on this teams needs to be a great ST guy (I heard none stood out) and they were still able to get Phillips on the PS.

Your thoughts?

Grant & Chickillo... Surprised me with the cut, but it was a smart move. Chickillo will benefit from a solid season on the PS. Hopefully nobody poaches him though. Grant looked solid all throughout camp. Only reason he didn't make the final 53 was because the team had their eyes on waivers. Good memory ATL with my mock a few years back. I was pretty stoked to hear about that signing. Now if only Lake & Butler can figure out a way to use those talents that they have acquired.

Landry... Definitely agree. I still wouldn't be surprised if at some point he still gets cut. Vick clearly leapfrogged him in the pecking order. Having Murphy around makes Landry expendable. I'm thinking both Vick & Murphy will get 2-pt/goalline looks at some point.

Todman... Pretty sad to see Harris get the axe. As you know I was always high on the kid. I struggled to understand how a kid of Harris' build/physique couldn't figure out how to pass block. Aside from FB's Will Johnson & Roosevelt Nix, he was the strongest running back on the roster. All that muscle, but couldn't block? Strange. Good find by Colbert & Co with Todman. He has all the tangibles needed to fill the RB3 role.

Murphy... His position flexibility is what sold it to the coaches. Having so many question marks at the QB position had to weigh pretty heavy on Tomlin & Colbert. Phillips was inconsistent when given opportunities, but showed a lot of talent. Glad he stuck around on the PS. DHB may not be anything great, but his experience and speed are great assets. Pretty bummed about that TD failure on his part. I'll chalk it up to cobwebs lol.

Ian Wild would of struck fear into the heart of Gronk, and suplexed him
