The Arizona Wildcats received some big news Wednesday night, as ESPN 300 teammates Marquis Ware and Jamardre Cobb (Los Angeles/Salesian) announced their commitments.

The announcement came in the form of a text message to media members from Salesian assistant coach D'Vah Thomas.

Ware, the No. 120 prospect in the country and No. 9 recruit in California, is listed as an athlete but will likely play linebacker at the next level. Cobb, the nation's No. 185 recruit and No. 13 outside linebacker, is the No. 2 outside linebacker in California and one of the state's most physical players.

Both held offers from a number of national powers, including Boise State, Florida State, Miami (Fla), Ohio State and Wisconsin. Ware also held offers from Texas A&M, UCLA and Vanderbilt.

Arizona built its lead for both players over the summer, as it hosted them on an unofficial visit that blew them away. Though the new football facilities weren't completed when they were on campus, both spoke glowingly about their time in Tucson and they seemed ready to make a commitment for several weeks.

For now, these commitments will likely boost Arizona in the team recruiting rankings. The Wildcats sit at No. 32 overall and No. 2 in the Pac-12, but now Arizona now could make a serious run at Stanford for the top of the Pac-12 recruiting rankings.

Like listen they have Dorians pickens as a top 100 recruit for espn basketball yet he only avg 14 ppg hes a 3 star recruit in my opinion. Scout and Rivals are much better, but you guys have the 14th best class in football on rivals.

ESPN had us as the 32nd ranked class BEFORE we added these two guys... adding two top 300 guys will shoot us up their rankings to number one in the Pac12 and in the top 20 overall most likely. They haven't updated it yet.

We only have 4 4 star recruits and 3 top espn 300. We still dont have a new stadium though so once we get that it will push us over the top. I think there is a good chance Casey Tucker commits so thats another 4 star espn top 300.

Hey guys. Just a quick recap on yesterday. We signed 6 JC recruits; by far the most JC recruits RR has signed since coming to Arizona. We did lose 1 verbal and that was Jamie Byrd. He was the #2 rated safety according to 247 sports; he committed to South Flordia . Nonetheless, here are the signees:

Jeff Worthy 6'3 290lbs defensive linemen

Jerod Cody 6'2 280lbs defensive linemen

Antonio Smothers 6'2 237lbs linebacker

Patrick Glover 6'2 212lbs cornerback

Kaige Lawrence 6'4 280 offensive linemen

Jerrard Randall 6'1 190lbs quarterback

Looks like Florida has stepped up and offered Sabino OT Andrew Mike. I was really hoping to land this kid, being that he's in our back yard and all, but looks like our chances are slim otherwise, he would have committed to us already.
