OK, we know about the horrid injuries. But what else may have gone wrong this season, and what were the causes?

Huff had a terrible year, after the big contract, and after a huge last season. Did he succumb to the pressure? Lots of players seem to play well when there are low expectations, but when there are expectations, they shrink. Is that Huff's story? Was he injured and no one knows? Or was starting in the outfield to begin the season, and those horrific falling down stumbling after fly balls just a complete embarrassment, and set him on the wrong path this season? One from which he never really emerged?

It could be that the WS win in 2010 went to the heads of some players, what with the endorsements, and the TV series, etc.

It could be that the hitters all slumped together, except for Panda and Beltran, though Beltran was pretty worthless when it counted the most when he first got here.

Should be an interesting off season. And since we know Sabean reads this site, we can all earn our Junior GM merit badges. Hey, if Beane can do it.....

tbh, there might be a silver lining to us missing the playoffs. i mean, division or wild card we would have played the phillies first round. obviously healthy, we could take them, but consider we wouldnt have posey or franchez, and pablo wouldnt be able to play vs lee or hamels. its a chance for the hurt players to heal. also we wont be putting all those extra innings on our pitchers again.

As much as I would have liked to see our Giants in the postseason again, I do not want them going in without having a decent chance to win. Too many injuries...too many black holes in the lineup.
