For one thing, he is clearly playing injured. Reports say he almost had to sit out game 7.

For another, I have not heard anybody call him a superstar. He is a terrific player, but not on that level.

He's still the Celtic's best player. Should have done better last night as should have the rest of the Celtics team.

Reports say he was hurt during the game.

Thomas aggravated his hip injury during game 6 against the Wizards. He has been playing through a muscle tear in his hip. In other words, the fact that Isaiah was even on the court is pretty ridiculous. It is really unfair to knock his production. The Celtics didn't have a legit chance in this series anyway, but without a healthy Isaiah, it was basically zero.

Didn't they say he is done for the series? He was clearly playing hurt.

Now that said, I think people pegged him a superstar way too soon. Nice player, but not a superstar talent.

Again.

Who pegged him as a superstar?

This thread is literally the only time I have seen Isaiah Thomas and superstar in the same sentence. That is unless we are talking about the one who played for the Pistons.

He only played 18 minutes. If he played 36, he would've gotten four points and six rebounds, so layoff him. ;) (Though 6 assists in 18 were good; 12 would be good in 36.)

I don't even like him as a player but to trash him after barely playing a half of game while playing injured is being a ****. I wouldn't call him a superstar but he's a legit top 3 scorer in the NBA right now with better shooting %'s across the board than Harden and Westbroke the two top MVP candidates right now.

He just was doing way too much trash talking for no reason. He just needs to stick with what he knows, stop the shit talk. He just isnt that kind of player

Who cares? There's no rule saying you have to be a superstar to be allowed to talk trash. Being that he's a midget and averaging nearly 30 points a game in a league which the avg height is around 6'7" and 215 lbs I'd say it was inevitable he was going to trash talk. Especially since he's from C town. Everyone and their brother who knows how to dribble is at least decent at talking trash. It's part of the game over here.

No law against it but it seems like the more he does the more he will get pushed around. He doesnt seem very mentally tough IMO

His mental toughness seems fine to me being that he was the last pick in the draft and released by multiple teams and yet has still become a successful NBA player despite being the shortest and lightest player in the game. Sure he'll get pushed around and he'll learn a lesson from it but he won't back down from a fight ever. I really haven't kept up with the NBA much this season since I was so disappointed from the rigged finals last year and after I found out this little dude was dropping nearly 30 a game that was the biggest shocker since seeing Curry break Ray's record.

He's had a great playoffs. He's not playing very well but they're hard trapping him hard with 2-3 guys every time he puts the ball down. Reminds me of what happened to Rose in the playoffs the first year James was in Miami. Celtics just don't have anybody to keep that defense honest.
