He has averaged 21.5ppg and 13rpg in 2 games. He's looking damn good.
We're going to agree to disagree on this.
*Errrr, um, various sounds of hesitation*Yes we are.
Because again, his stat line doesn’t tell the story. It never has with him. If it did, he wouldn’t have been waived by the Cavs and traded for nothing by the Pistons.
That works against you...not surprising you don't get that.*Errrr, um, various sounds of hesitation*
Big difference what the Cavs and Lakers are paying him.
Shooting 87 percent from the field seems pretty elite to meAyton does not look like an elite C.
Yes, He would abuse Harrel. He abused AD in game 1.
And yet still, my point is that Harrell helps the offense as much as he hurts the defense. Because Drummond isn’t exactly a great defender either.
The problem is that I believe Vogel is going to play Drummond no matter what because he has the most status. And it may end up costing the Lakers in the end.
Right?Shooting 87 percent from the field seems pretty elite to me
wrong...unless you think Jarrett Allen is elite. He had 2 game stretches where he shot 16-18 (89%) and 19-20 (95%). If 87% is elite what would 95% be?Right?

The Pistons and then the Cavs were paying him a ton and realized he was not helping. The Cavs would rather pay him not to play and no one would give up an asset they care about for him.
FYI, I don't blame the Lakers for bringing him in. Low risk. If he's hurting them then sit him or play him less.
Except....Allen did it in meaningless regular season games.wrong...unless you think Jarrett Allen is elite. He had 2 game stretches where he shot 16-18 (89%) and 19-20 (95%). If 87% is elite what would 95% be?
The reason the Lakers were able and willing to take Drummond in is because he was on waivers. Do you seriously see them signing him for $20m+ for the season if the option was there? Hell no. Probably not even for half that price.
The Lakers had a spare roster spot and are paying him less than $800k for the remainder of the season. It was a low risk/high reward kinda situation. If he works out cool, if not he's warming up the pine and nothing else changes on the rotation.
He was brought in for his rebounding which is exactly what he is doing.
Go back and reread the thread as your reply has nothing to do with what I've been saying. The reason the Lakers were able and willing to take Drummond in is because he was on waivers. Is he warming the pine if it isn’t working though?
I have my doubts.

he also did it against a better defensive center than Drummond....does this mean any center who has a 2 game stretch in the playoffs shooting 87% from field is elite?Except....Allen did it in meaningless regular season games.
I mean...they kind of are "a team like Cleveland" when Cleveland had Lebron.Of course he will. You think Lebron is not going to be vocal if he's doing more harm than good?
This is the Lakers, not a team like Detroit or Cleveland.
