I call bullshit on your $100 million per year claim. I watch and play a lot of golf. The ONLY golfer that might have hit 100 mill a year was Tiger.

There are about 150 golfers on the PGA tour. 100 of them are making less than 1 million a year.
I got it from this link

Yeah I know how they get paid. You made a claim that they made a 100 million a year which is ridiculous. Tiger never made a 100 million a year. And he was getting paid 40 million a year from Nike in his peak.

Who are the big name athletes that went to the Mavericks or Rangers?

A-Rod did it 20 years ago. For the biggest contract in baseball history at the time. Then he went to New York and got bigger contracts.
Read the article it names a few.

They listed Joe Flacco for one. If you’re too lazy to read go ahead a bow out.

Wait. Joe Flacco is an example of a player that signed a big contract in a no income tax state?

Am I missing something?

Ok. Fair enough on Tiger I guess. He was arguable the biggest athlete in the world at the time. And Nike was giving him absurd money.

So now show how most top golfers make a 100 million a year, as you claimed.
Jesus please read through the thread again

How do guys function yes there is a link.

That wasn’t my point. You’ll have to ask the other poster about that. My point is/was golfers take up residence in non state income states.

as far as income between the athletes here is what I found with a quick search.

“An average pro golfer will earn more than $2 million a year as a competitor and will have the opportunities to earn at least as much away from the course. The top-name golfers on tour can earn more than $100 million per year.”

Avg MLB player makes 4.7
Avg NBA player makes 8.9

The avg MLB/NBA players make more than the avg PGA golfer. But the top of the PGA with endorsements is as high or higher.

Please point to the link.

lol

A below average NBA player can get a long term contract for more per year than that per year. There are guys that barely play making more per year than that. MLE guys make well in excess of $2 million per year.

Top NBA players get contracts well in excess of $100 million over 4 and 5 year periods and that's just their basketball money. That doesn't include their endorsement money or from the businesses most of them start. Lebron , for example, will soon be a billionaire.

Here is an article that quotes Mark Cuban and the Texas Rangers GM that it is discussed with potential signees. It’s a side benefit they use when negotiating.

lol

That article is 4 years old. Just since that article...Lebron James, Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have all chosen to come to LA over Texas. Mookie Betts and Trevor Bauer also came to LA.

Remind me who the last big name player who chose to go to Dallas was. In fact, here on the NBA boards, we've had several discussions over the years trying to figure out why big name players don't choose Dallas. Hell, the Rockets got CP3, James Harden and Russell Westbrook...they all left.

Nice try...but fail.

Holy Hell.

You claimed that top level PGA players make a 100 million plus. Your link makes no reference to it. You then referenced Tiger at his peak making 100+ million a year. 15 years ago.

You're not good at this.
