Purdue-Arkansas was a classic as well, though not for Maui relief. Hope the major conferences keep doing these charity exhibition games. It's a win/win for all parties involved.
Feels like Arkansas is essentially SEC Nebraska with all of these close losses the past few years. Keep waiting for the odds to average out and win a few of them but it never seems to happen lol.
Not sure how you end up losing to BYU by more than LSU or Alabama.
It's going to be important that the new transfers in Arkansas' secondary live up to their billing. Getting two starters from Baylor and a 5* from Georgia should be an upgrade on paper (really no where else to go but up).
I will say it seems like Ole Miss is getting the benefit of the doubt more...
I guess when you consistently have the best collective recruiting classes and pump out the most NFL draft picks year after year you get the benefit of the doubt. Though I don't think there is any way that every single one of Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Florida, A&M, Texas and Oklahoma will...
I don't know if we're really the 10th best team either but truthfully you can make arguments for why or why not a lot of teams should or shouldn't be in the top 25, every team has some warts once you get past the top few. It's all pretty subjective.
Idk our fanbase can be pretty damn obnoxious on Twitter and the message boards when we're winning. But it probably just depends on which part of the country you're in.
We trolled the crap out of Auburn and Tennessee in basketball this year but I guess this is a football-only ranking so maybe it...
This isn't really a new thing but social media has definitely made fans say things they normally wouldn't.
I remember Jerry Tarkanian saying his UNLV teams got hot pennies thrown at them when they were the visiting team in the 90's. Not sure how fans made them hot but seems like it wouldn't...
@thunderc any thoughts on Jadon Haselwood? Georgia 247 board thinks Arkansas may be in play for him with his HS coach on our staff. Is he better than Jaqualyn Crawford? Lol.
Just a failed 2-point conversion away from a possible 10-win season after the bowl against an extremely difficult schedule. Not sure even the most optimistic Hog fan would have thought Pittman would turn it around this quickly. Hope we can hang on to Briles and Odom.
Older Arkansas fans still hate Texas primarily but for younger fans it's probably LSU with the rest split up between Ole Miss/A&M/Auburn/Oklahoma/Tennessee depending on which part of the state you live in. Mizzou might be there for those who live on the AR/MO border but I just get the sense that...
Just don't think you can paint with this broad of a brush. The top 10 FCS teams are pretty equal with the middle to the bottom of almost every G5 conference. There is a huge gap between playing Mississippi Valley State and North Dakota State.
Never thrown anything but definitely feel the frustration at the awful officiating that nothing ever seems to be done about. You'd think with how much money the SEC has they could afford to hire and train full-time officials. Or maybe there needs to be a national officiating group instead of...
Just glad we weren't involved this time. It's going to keep happening until there are actual consequences though...not just an apology. With how much money college football makes they have to invest in better officiating. It becomes impossible for teams who are at the bottom to make any headway...
Pickens is good but even when healthy I might still have Metchie, Boutte and Burks ahead of him just in the SEC. He seems to be getting more hype than some based on his high school rating. He's only gone over 100 yards in an SEC game once.
