Dennard Wilson, new DB coach? Or assistant to Manuel...
Hi All - hope everyone's doing well and staying safe out there... it's been a while and a very frustrating season to say the least. Sorry if some of what I'm going to say has been said already, but here's my :2cents:rant, for what it's worth.
In my 30 or so years of being an Eagles fan, this...
I've always seen Reagor when we drafted (reached for) him ultimately being a #2 at best; I don't think we always put him in a position to succeed, plus he missed time with an injury - but he also didn't really flash a lot either to convince me he's going to be anything special... it's still...
Rey, this one's for you:
I was just watching a replay of a Rich Eisen interview with Roseman after the draft - Eisen asked him to confirm a rumor why he took Shaun Bradley in the 6th. Howie confirmed that it was because his kid watched Space Jam, which had Shawn Bradley (the basketball player)...
Just my :2cents:
Rd 1: Jalen Raegor
Personally I believe his true value was mid 2nd round, but the consensus was he was rising up the boards and was going in the 20s anyway... IMO was a slight reach but there was a need and he is a good player. Lots to like - he's tough, plays faster than he...
I meant as an executive - easier to build a team that sucked and tanked for years and was the beneficiary of high draft picks, let's see if he can close the deal and win a SB in the FO.
I didn't like that the Eagles tried to play him in the slot to start his career - he is not a slot corner, he is an outside guy. I'm hoping that with a competent position coach and playing the outside, his NATURAL position, he will finally have some success. He also needs to stay healthy, I...
I am not a fan for where they drafted him, but I will say this about Hurts - people are drawn to this guy. Everyone raves about his work ethic and intangibles. He is a supreme competitor. If his physical talent gets coached up correctly, and Wentz cannot overcome his injury liability, it's...
You pretty much summed it up Rey but I will take it one step further - the Hurts pick to me is very complicated... Hurts is in the perfect situation that he can sit for 2, maybe even 3 seasons, learn his craft and get coached up. If Wentz continues to be an injury liability, and Hurts develops...
I may be one of the few that doesn't mind Kiper, even if he's inaccurate a lot of times - this was the first time I've actually paid any attention to their host Trey Wingo, he is VERY annoying! No wonder ESPN has gone in the toilet. Louis Riddick is very good, and so was Booger MacFarland...
Because of the depth this year, a couple of guys dealing with injuries going into the draft and the pandemic limiting teams from extra due diligence some of these guys are going to drop, a 1st round talent could fall right into our lap in the 2nd. Or a very feasible scenario would be a trade...
I remember when the Cowdungs drafted Travis Frederick a few years ago higher than everyone expected, when they probably didn't necessarily need one at the time, and was one of top Centers in the league when he played... Kelce's importance to the cohesion of the Eagles OL is every bit as valuable...
I like Isaiah Hodgins of Oregon State - I think he's a sleeper in this group.
The thing about Jefferson is yes he probably has the tools to play outside, but to do it at a high level consistently? I don't think so. If he played outside, a really good Corner can lock him out. He was the...
Mims could be someone we draft if we traded back a few spots, towards the end of the 1st or early 2nd. Maybe that's where the talk is coming from about us possibly trading back. I think the Eagles would like to get more value by doing that if they could, especially if their efforts to trade up...
For Jerry Jeudy, absolutely. If we play our cards right, we can trade up for Jeudy and because of the depth in the draft it's possible we still land a workable prospect in the mid/later rounds and still come away with at least the 2 we need from this draft.
Another guy that seemingly isn't...
Agreed. I think I'd be OK if he fell to our 2nd round pick, but to trade up for him? Nope. If we're looking for a speed guy at that point, I like Duvernay and Reagor better than Hamler in that scenario anyway.
The allure of guys like Gladney, Aiyuk, Hennessy, Gay, etc. for me is that these guys are tough - as much as we need to improve team speed (not just the offensive side), we need TOUGH guys and I do believe that is what the Eagles are looking for.
I think Epenesa will be a solid pro, but not anything special. He lacks explosiveness to be an elite rusher, I see him more as a really good 5-tech.
Claypool is raw, but has DK Metcalf type size and speed. I think he may ultimately become a H-Back type of player in the mold of Evan Engram...
So would it be outside the box if they did indeed end up taking a lineman at 21, if one of the higher rated guys dropped to our pick?? Strong possibility given our draft philosophy and history.
If Wirfs, Wills Jr., Kinlaw or Mekhi Becton fell to 21, do you think the Eagles would pass on a WR...
Do you mean trade Jackson back to Jacksonville instead of Barnett? I don't know if they would want that, they would covet the younger player. It looks like the Eagles are going to roll with Jackson one more season, he will probably play a Darren Howard type role as an inside/outside piece in...
