Hey guys...been awhile. Hope everyone is well. Just a few quick thoughts on this offseason and draft.
I very much like what has been done on the defensive side of the ball. As for the draft, a lot of the recent mocks in the last few weeks leading up to the draft had the Bears taking Floyd...
Brees is going through the exact same thing this season that Cutler has dealt with the last 2- and thats being backed by a defense that allows too many scores. Saints so far this season have allowed the most ppg at 30.8. Right now theres nothing to suggest they wont be more than a 5 or 6 win...
ATF- Its not just gaining 2 games- its A) getting to 10 wins and B) hoping the 4 teams in front of them have 9 wins or fewer because a tiebreaker needs to be avoided. A lot needs to happen. GB completely tanking would be a big help.
Exactly. In addition to the unlikelihood of winning out, they need a bunch of help from the teams ahead of them. The 2-5 conference record is what will hurt them...which is at a minimum 2 more losses than any of teams that are ahead of them. What they have to hope for is a scenario where head to...
They havent beaten a good team to this point, so I can see the skepticism. However, the sked is what it is- and so far theyve established they can run the ball and play good defense. That can go a long way.
The Bears absolutely have struggled in the red zone. However, thats not all Cutlers doing. Too many times the past few seasons near the goal line theyve tried to pound it in between the tackles with Forte...and he just isnt suited for that.
Not quite, Cali...the Rams playcalling sequence was bizarre when the deficit was still manageable. Gurley had 12 carries with a long run of 9 yards. His best runs came in that first drive on 3 carries. Despite the penalties that altered their down and distance, there was certainly more...
Sure, there are exceptions...and the drop off varies from position to position. Hence, my wording as a 'general' rule. I also agree that depth at RB is one of the easier positions to fill.
Think of it this way- as a general rule, if backups were starters, they wouldnt be backups to begin with.
Also, its not just what the replacement does. A starter that makes significant contributions also creates opportunities for others. If that player is out, not only does the entire depth...
I agree completely. Theres a lot of factors involved that shape successes and failures of a skill position player- especially the QB. Some situations are more desirable than others, but how those come to be is often beyond the control of the QB. Its not a one size fits all, for sure.
I agree, that he doesnt have the 'it' factor- but thats a trait the elite QBs possess. Jay is not an elite QB by any stretch. Im confident that would be the consensus on this board. However, to say what I quoted is patently false- especially over the last several seasons where the body of work...
Its been 2 days since Ive posted. So, whether you left it alone since then is immaterial to me posting 2 days later, despite your "Im not the bad guy" nonsense.
Oh sure, theres no way that youre trying to bait anyone with that remark. Especially with the recent thoughts youve expressed on catchable footballs. Just not possible. Then, you get called out and naturally its those that respond that are "reading too much into it."
If it walks like a...
Forte is a career 4.2 ypc rusher. Not overwhelming. While he does a lot of other things very well that help out the team tremendously- Forte isnt a home run hitter rushing the football, and never really has been. That said, Langford doesnt have to be better than Forte to supplant him as the...
