Getting Beau Bennett for the 77th pick was a great move for the Devils. He's very good on the forecheck & very intelligent with the puck. He also has a pretty good shooting touch. You will also have a hard time finding a player that puts more effort into every shift than Beau Bennett. If he...
Now our new banner fits perfectly!
Penguins Make The Move to “Pittsburgh Gold”
Had a feeling we would go back to the old colors, good move by the Pens!
I'm not saying you guys should go after Hartnell, but if the BJ's are willing to give him up along with something else for minimum in return, he could be good for the 3rd or 4th line. Plus it's just a 2 year commitment.
Was excited about Kasperi Kapanen a couple years back, but then we traded him right away.
Trade worked out well for us, but it really hurt watching this...
Maple Leafs got a really good player in exchange for Kessel.
So other than staying put with the Tampa Bay Lightning (which I said would be the best situation)
Toronto Maple Leafs: some good young players but horrible reputation.
Detroit Red Wings: good reputation but will have to give up a lot of draft picks for someone to take Datsyuk's contract, and...
This is true, awaz, we were able to use those dmen to package some trades (including the Phil Kessel trade).
It's not necessarily a bad thing, but I wouldn't expect him to draft a speedy forward that will one day be a part of the team. I could be wrong tho, maybe Shero changed his philosophy...
Not in the 2012 draft, we had to trade Jordan Staal to the Hurricanes & got their #8 pick. We could've drafted Tomas Hertl, Filip Forsberg, or Radek Faksa. Instead, he drafted Derrick Pouliot (dman) with the #8 and then drafted Olli Maatta (another dman) with the 22nd pick.
In fairness to Scott Gomez, he was still putting up good numbers when the Rangers traded him to the Canadiens. Also, Gomez brought championship experience that David Clarkson does not. I'm not saying it's impossible to trade away such a contract, but you would likely have to give up several...
It would be a good pick, but Shero never seems to draft the speedy forwards. He always goes for a dman that he could package in a trade somewhere down the line. Maybe he's changed his philosophy tho.
Any ideas on who the Flyers are going to draft in the 1st round? This mock draft says Julien Gauthier (right winger from the Val-d'Or Foreurs of the QMJHL), but who really knows who will be picked at #18?
@clarkson23devils it says your Devils will draft Clayton Keller (center/left winger from...
They still have to re-sign the players they already have until then. It's not as simple as just having those massive multi year deals & waiting for them to expire. Think about how the Ilya Kovalchuk contract prevented the Devils from re-signing Zach Parise.
