Rams have (3) 1st round picks in this redraft.
Let’s hope they have another great draft this year.
The article does make a valid point.
Say there are only about 7 defensive players worthy of 1st round picks, whereas the offensive side has way more.
So, the value is on the offensive side in the 1st, then load up on defense after.
I’m not a huge fan of going that route, but seeing as this is...
There are LB’s in the draft that would be just as useful in ST with more upside than Reeder.
That’s the problem. They keep resigning these retread guys that have no upside and little value.
How is it that the Lakers spent 2 years developing Pippen Jronly to let him go?
Dude is a starting caliber player hitting 43% of his 3's and shooting 48% overall.
And Ham couldn't find a way to play him more when they've needed 3 pt shooting for years.
And for good reason.
There has been speculation that the Rams May let Kupp go after this season. If that is indeed the case, than WR is absolutely a need ( especially accounting for his injury history of late ), and this draft is loaded with studs in the 1st round.
That is not always the case...
Same thing can be said about the other positions as well.
They found Young and Turner in the 3rd last year.
They suck drafting in the 2nd ( Akers, Jefferson, Everett, Atwell, etc ).
Whoever they draft in the 1st ( assuming they don’t trade ), needs to have instant impact. Stafford and Kupp...
It’s simple.
Kupp is older and the injuries are piling up.
And if you can get a guy with Thomas’ size and 4.3 speed, you do it.
Those type of WR’s don’t grow on trees (think Calvin Johnson who Stafford did great things with ).
Johnson was 6’5” with 4.35 speed. Thomas is 6’4” with 4.33 speed.
Saw a recent article regarding the positions the Rams should target in round 1.
DL, Edge and OT were the main ones.
Argument was made that Rams should take an Edge because the drop off after the top 4-5 edge rushers is much steeper than the drop off between the other positions.

Snead gets blasted a lot on here, but we as Rams fans really take him for granted, many even wanting him gone at various points.
But he is better than most GM’s and a lot of teams would snag him if the...
I agree there are bigger needs.
I was just stating that if they were set on taking a WR in the first, I’d rather they waited and took Thomas than to trade up for Odunze
If the Rams brass are wanting to take a WR in the 1st, I hope they don’t trade up for Odunze.
I hope they wait and take Brian Thomas instead.
But, of course, we are all hoping the Rams avoid offensive skill players early.
The one issue I can see happening in the draft is a team jumping ahead of the Rams to get Murphy knowing the Rams need to replace Donald.
If that happens, they should trade back and target Newton or a CB/OT.
Achilles injuries typically take a year to heal. That would put him out until October at the earliest.
Akers came back earlier and I think that was the wrong decision because he hasn’t been the same since.
You can’t rush these things.
And picking one early doesn’t necessarily mean starting...
